I just sold my 86 Targa to buy a 996 like one in this thread.

Hope I made the right decision..

The 911 is interesting right now. In the $30k range you can get a base 997, a mint 996 C4S, a higher mileage 996TT, a mint 964, or a nice G50 Carrera. All very nice, all very different. I really hope to move up to a 996TT in the next year or two, especially as they continue to depreciate.

I've seen 993 C2's in the low $30k range as well.

I am wondering if we have hit bottom. My friend thinks we will see $10k 996's soon. I don't see them falling that far.

Maybe decent 996TT's will fall to the mid 25's...

I can see 996.1's getting down to the $10k region, especially for a tip Cab (aka super saturated, non-desirable). I doubt the 996 will EVER be as ridiculously cheap as a 986, but $10k is feasible.

True, you can still get a higher mileage driver quality 993 in the $30k range as well.

I think the bottom for a nice 996.1 will be around $15k. Some less, some more depending on mileage, condition, options, etc. The Boxster seems to be pretty solidly hovering around $10k for a standard 986, I can't see them ever being much cheaper unless they are just beat. As the 997 continues to drop I think we will see the 996TT in the mid to upper $20k range before long. I keep hoping that the 996 GT3 will depreciate, but they seem really solid in the $50k+ range.

I just can't see either the Boxster or 996 ever being an under $10k car, at least not the nice ones. It's hard to find a nice 944 S2, 951, 928 S4, or 914 for less than $10k anymore.

Sort of on topic but does anyone have any idea of how much the pse mufflers go for? I can't find them used for sale anywhere. I've got a set that'd be a waste to put back on the car considering what I've heard they're worth.

The cost of the entire system is, umm, a little expensive.

Pelican Parts.com - Sports Exhaust System

I've sold performance mufflers in the past before, I think I got in the $800-$1000 range from them. I suspect you could get about the same. Rennlist has a way more active marketplace for 996 stuff, worth joining if you have some selling to do.

That's only 1/3 the price of a really good car. Seems reasonable. Not.

The 4-spoke is basically a 993 wheel and ugly. The 3-spoke is actually very good for a stock wheel.
