BTW0-I had not even SAT in a Corvette until last November. A Porsche friend bought a 2009 and let us take it out for a spin. It was cool but I may as well just turn in my driver's license if I were get one. My ol' SC is just enough for me.
That wasn't a GS, it was a 71 Skylark that I put a good running Buick 455 in, a good auto trans and a lock up posi, plus some other stuff. The cool car was the 78 Turbo LeSabre in the garage, four wheel disk brakes, posi, bucket seats, center console, no power windows or seats, no air cond. Turbo, stock from the factory, 55k miles on it. GNs didn't even come with four wheel disc brakes.

Wayne,
It will roast those 15" tires at 55mph on a downshift. I was seriously afraid it would no longer be fun to drive, but the lump was built for the street. The motor is all new. The only things reused from the 350 was the fuel pump, alternator, and power steering pump. Lightweight rotating assembly makes it spin up real quick, you have to be Johnny on the spot on the shifter from 1 to 3, and you definitely want it to be pointing straight before you really get into it.

My Past Vettes....

I Also Had A Few Vettes In My Past.....

I Had A '78 In High School, Owned It For 8 yrs,

Totaled It Shortly After Getting Out Of Army.

A Year After Losing The '78 I Had A Numbers Matching,

Frame Off Restored '67 Convertible.

When I Sold The '67 After 13 Yrs Of Ownership & Doubling My Money,

I Bought A Friends '97 Coupe, Sold That One To My Mother Of All People.

When She Decided She Couldn't Handle The Removable Roof Panel Herself

Anymore, I Bought It Back. I Ended Up Reselling It At Carlisle A Few Months Later.

I Miss The '67, But I Really Never Got To Enjoy It, I Just Showed It.

When I Lost Interest In Shows, The Car Just Sat & Sat.

I Would Love Another Midyear (63-67), But Not A Numbers Matching NCRS Show

Car. These Days A Pro Touring, Or Restomod Is The Way To Go. Modern Motors &

Suspension In The Classic Bodies.

Sweet! Grunt, grunt. I built a 400 small block for my Camaro back in the day. Very stealthy when compared to the more popular builds. I was running a 150 shot of hose which was a hoot.

Wayne,
I think this thing would switch end immediately on a 150 shot. Also, I used a Dart SHP block for this build, if your familiar with those. It has some advantages over using a GM 400 block, of which good ones are getting scarce.

Pics of the Cramarrow please. I dig 2nd gens.

If that had been a well set up 944, that wouldn't have happened!

I Had The Car For Sale At The Time ($7500.), Took It Down The To Get Gas, On My Way Home

Old Guy In Olds 88 Pulls Right Out In Front Of Me. I T- Boned Him..... He Said He Never Even Saw

Me Till I Hit Him. Long Story Short, Insurance Paid Me $9500. For The Total Loss.

The quote is from an old Road & Track magazine:

"Good Tires", Bob mused, casually lighting a cigarette, "But certainly not great tires."

I'll see if I can figure out how to scan pics of my old hot rods. I'll put them in another thread so as to not hijack here.

Timely.

I'm just finishing the book on Dan Binks. That car is awesome, and the pace of development on the factory Corvettes is nothing short of phenomenal.

Not a car for beginners!

My buddy has a '67 427-4spd coupe, dark green, white stinger, side pipes with real knock-offs...original family car. We cruise to PCA events in it

IMO, it's one of the top 10 most beautiful cars ever made.
