I just finished rebuilding the top end on my RD350. Fired right up after sitting in a corner of the garage for the past 13 years. Purrrrssss like a kitten. Already up on Ebay to make room for new bikes. These things aren't worth much as so many were made. Its gonna be a while before they're investment grade bikes. Cool little bike, though.

My wife would surely kill me... but could you please post a link to the eBay auction?

Is this a Rickman frame? My high school pal had a Rickman-Montessa that looked a lot like this, but I remember the tank having a slightly different shape. Not bigger like a desert tank, just different with the filler closer to the triples....but I've been wrong before...

That picture was taken by Dan Mahoney, then the official photo guy at Ascot. I think he also owned the Trackmaster frame business.

I'd be interested in buying two fully restored early 70's vintage bikes. 1. Kawasaki 100 Trail Boss 10-speed. 2. Kawasaki 350 Bighorn (lime green one)

Where is the best place to look for these?

No, not a Rickman, although I had a Rickman framed Zundap. I think this was a Shell, made in SanFran.

You only really notice the fading because the "don't forget to wear a helmet sticker has gone. Original tires. I ride it to work now and again. The duc/scrambler riding hipsters have been seen taking pics...

I could include the shopping basket if you're interested :p (it's too cool to undergo a cosmetic restoration)

OK, I'll take it. How much? :D

Re read this and am not sure what you were asking, that picture is from an 8x10 b and white I got from Mahoney, not actually from the magazine. I have lost or sold the magazine.

None left, but I sure had a lot more, I wasn't so into pictures then, an Aerial Sq 4, a beautiful 59 BMW 250cc, a Harley Café Racer, 1977 that was perfect, many other Hondas Suzukis, Yamahas, other Bultacos, some old British Iron, they all went away.

Nice. Did you find an air cleaner? I've been looking for an early style air cleaner for years for my 56 R50.

Gogar 11-01-2015 07:15 AM

I have the original one, i'm just fixing a ding and painting it.

You can buy one if you're willing to pony up. There's a seller 'vs4' who has a nice restored one right now on eBay for $350.

Wen looking for a plated enduro, I really wanted to get a nice XT500. They are unobtainable for a reasonable price. I bought a modern KTM for half the money instead.

Next on the list however is a pan head harley. One day. :)

Saw that. I have a pretty nice one of those, I'm looking for the earlier one.

I can't believe I forgot to post this pic of my 1964 Triumph Bonneville. I need to add it to my signature line.
