Re read this and am not sure what you were asking, that picture is from an 8x10 b and white I got from Mahoney, not actually from the magazine. I have lost or sold the magazine.

None left, but I sure had a lot more, I wasn't so into pictures then, an Aerial Sq 4, a beautiful 59 BMW 250cc, a Harley Café Racer, 1977 that was perfect, many other Hondas Suzukis, Yamahas, other Bultacos, some old British Iron, they all went away.

You can buy one if you're willing to pony up. There's a seller 'vs4' who has a nice restored one right now on eBay for $350.

Wen looking for a plated enduro, I really wanted to get a nice XT500. They are unobtainable for a reasonable price. I bought a modern KTM for half the money instead.

Next on the list however is a pan head harley. One day.

One of my favourites. Liquid torque. Pretty good bump.

Bought this on eBay, $750. Rode it home from Salinas to Van Nuys after dark. Behind the fairing at 80 was calm, you could feel the thermostat cycling.

Did this paint job right after 9/11. I still have this one.

Red line on the 3-4 shift was at 100, and front tire was usually an inch in the air.

Everyone needs a Thumper at least once in their life....

My fav commute bike. Made going from the valley home to the beach a delight.
Not as smooth as the 750, but a brute, was not happy below 70.

Made LA to SanFran a breeze. I put 30k on this bike in 3 years.

An R65, sold me on a chain of airheads, but I liked this one best.

Like the thumper, everyone needs a K.


At one time I had 21 bikes in a hangar in the valley. Had to choose one to ride to Redondo when in town.

Sewing machine with a disc brake. Needed a run to make it over Sepulveda Pass at WOT.

Just the opposite. V65 Sabre. Hearing it idle cold made wood. Hearing it purr after a run did the same. Went thru a lot of rear tires with this one.

No explanation for this. Had it long enough to realize it was going to kill me.

One of the original Interceptors. I bought one in Frankfurt while living in Mallorca, and rode it to the Winter Olympics in Sarajevo.

Kept this one for a long time. Was box stock. Always reminded me of commuting from Moraga to SF Pier 41 on one while driving ferryboats during college. The college one was stolen in the marina district while I was 30 feet away. Wish I still had that one.
