Don't visit Bisbee! They have these giant subterrainian worms that shoot tentacles out of the gaping mouths to pull you in.
![]() Good luck! I love tuscon. Probably be there a week after you.

I like the roads getting in and out of the Bend...for some reason two lane roads through the SW work for me. As far as Ajo, I flew a trusty SH-60B into Libby Army Air Field at FT Huachuca with a buddy of mine from Ajo. We rented a car and got into Ajo in the afternoon for a big (relative term) festival. It was a hoot being with a local. That's my story and I'm sticking to it

If You feel comfortable with it, please let us all know how different (or not) shops / peoples attitudes are (in the business) VS here after taking it all in. I would be very interested to see the comparison.

You got to play a little bit.
8,000 Ft Mt. Lemmon is right next to town you will not resist driving up it. Here is a picture 30 miles from downtown Tucson on Mt Lemmon. Here

Gambler
I would be more than happy to. As it stands now, my phone interactions have been very different than here. Perfect example, one shop I had two interviews already, the first was about ten minuets long and an additional 30 of shooting the breeze about cars, guns, food, etc. The second one was more formal, and took about 15 followed up by another 30 of fat chewing. Both were different people from the same shop. Another example is one guy flat out told me I was over qualified but he knows a few shops who are looking and he called them and gave them my number, yes they called me and I have a face to face with them. It seems like handshakes are the preferred method of deal closing and that folks actually look out for each other, at least in this industry. I have a feeling this is going to take me not very long to decompress and actually relax. Another thing I noticed is that most places are closed on Saturday, meaning I might actually be a person instead of a number. I just can't imagine this

Ficke, trust me I know how to play and it will be very hard to keep Beth and I out of the mountains unless we are in the desert poking holes in paper. I live in the foothills of the blue ridge and I always enjoy the roads

Rick,
You will like the laws here regarding lead launchers, all NFA allowed, open carry, loaded in car is cool. Silhouette shooting was pretty much started here, good across the course rifle shooting, big fifty shooting, steel challenge IPSC stuff, and NRA three gun bullseye. Big Suppressor manufacturers in Phoenix and of course Dillin is in Scottsdale. And the 'Big Sandy shoot' is in AZ. if you have NFA stuff, that is fun because you can shoot radio controlled airplanes with blasting caps on them, Knob Creek does not have that. I am thinking my spoon collection that is almost extreme for the mid atlantic will be considered a starter set out there.

Maybe she should stand farther away when you're out-gassing.

Thanks for all the ideas and good words, My wife has noticed that she hardly ever hears someone say anything bad about Tucson, other then the obvious "it's a city"

My sister in law and her family live just S of Tucson, their only big complaint (other than missing family) is the invasion of geriatrics in the winter. Everything in their small town closes early because everybody there is old! Not an issue in Tucson proper.
