So this is like sour grapes from the sore loser Seahawks fans? Geez, you're supposed to wait until your team actually gets beaten first! Decorum! It won't be long though. In two weeks you can whine all you want and make up all the unfounded excuses you want. Be patient.

A large part of the population thinks the only way to get what you want is to not play by the rules. "Rules are made to be broken." How many times have you heard someone say that? Or just see them consistently act that way? Wall Street is rife with insider trading and little is done about it. Why should pro sports be any different? It's a huge multi-billion dollar corporate industry too so it stands to reason that cheating exists. People who benefit from cheating rarely care about consequences and even when caught can shrug-off any negative publicity and keep right on going. "Winning is everything, it's the only thing."

I wager most here would lay and stay crumpled upon the ground after one such hit. Racing you might wreck. A receiver coming over the middle is going to get killed. No ifs.... Picture chess, with live pieces.... more than just dirty sheep playing in a field .... |

If it hadn't been for New England cheating the Colts would have won! I mean the Colts only got beat on Offense, Defense and Special Teams. Other than that they played well enough to win.

I am a dyed in the wool Pats hater. However, I tend to doubt this is true (or material). The Pats tend to find ways to circumvent the spirit of the rule, not the rule itself. In this case, the ball can be at 12.5-13.5psi, maybe they were inspected at 13.5psi and dropped to 12.5psi during the game because it was rainy. In that case, they didn't break the rule but still tampered with the balls during the game, after inspection. Certainly against the spirit of the rule, but not outwardly against it.
Even so, it didn't matter as the Colts were outclassed in all three phases of the game. That is what really burns me though, as the organization has done the same thing before without need (at the time of spygate, the Pats were easily the best team in their weak division and didn't need to engage in unscrupulous behavior for an advantage). We shall see, they have a talented group of coaches and players. So do their Super Bowl opponents. |

WAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!
Loosers always need an excuse. if the balls were under-inflated, how come Brady and company could score at will but Un-luck couldn't complete a sentence?????? THEY WERE USING THE SAME BALLS. |

For all the money the NFL has...if they can't fool proof a game so the football's inflation is legit - that's on them (the egg on their face) and they (the NFL) should be itself fined.
That's my take on the situation.

Who cares? I mean I REALLY hate the Patriots, but honestly taking a couple PSI out of the football would have made up for the 38 point loss by the Colts? I doubt it. This is just an example of the Sports-media machine trying to keep our attention (and sell more advertising) between the Playoffs and the Superbowl b/c no one cares about the ProBowl.

As a football coach the under inflated ball is a non issue. For high school kids I have had a ref squeeze the ball and say put a little more air in it, kickers can benefit a little from it, but at the pro level , no. I do not like Brady, or his coach, or the Seahawks or their coach for that matter but this is a true case of haters hating. If it helped so much why did Gronk go 3 for 8 or whatever his actual stat was? I like Luck, but the Colts got tooled. Deflated ball doesn't help your defense to kick the crap out of the other teams offense either.

Brady could play the whole game with an over-inflated ball and still win. I get that he's arrogant but how can you argue with 3 rings, ( or is it 4?), multiple SB MVPs, most TD passes in post season, and on and on and on...
The guy is a winning machine.

So officials took A ball for testing. It seems to me they should be doing this as a matter of course with several balls in every game. What kind of idiot would test balls two hours before a game and assume none of them would ever change over the course of a game. Why should it take a complaint from a reporter from the losing team to get them to check the balls? This whole thing smells fishy to me

I'm not a Pats fan. But it's pretty ignorant to make fun of a team that has been to the Superbowl 6 of the last 14 seasons (aka almost half of them), and won 3 of 5. Has YOUR team done better? Mine sure hasn't.......
