I don't get all the hate. Looks like a beautiful car. I'm not sure I've ever seen a 964 rescue that well done. Sure, Singers are amazing, but that's not what this is.

If you like that other stuff, God bless you. Very well done, yes.

Look, this was our hobby, and these cars were our aspiration and our pleasure. It was always about the cars and driving. For enthusiasts. Now, they are a branded icon, something that people with money are learning that they need to have in order to be cool. Not just people who love them, but people who love to be cool and flash.

Maybe some of us feel we are being branded out of our hobby. Paul Mustang sold his S, and some of us are feeling that a little bit now, what he felt. And the people driving like idiots on the road. That seems to fit in somehow, in an era when super fast cars are starting to drive themselves. Driving fast. No big deal, RIGHT ?

Let's all look the other way. Forget about branding, and marketing, the lack of respect for speed, and the death of our hobby. It is at least, the end of the beginning, when ordinary guys in their basements and garages did cool things with cars, and the respected mechanics and builders were the guys who grew up living and breathing this stuff.

It isn't all about Magnus, this thing that has people upset. It's the 800 pound Gorilla in the room that has people uneasy.
Guess one could say that I quickly grew weary and bored with that 800 pound Gorilla.
I had three decades with a very nice 1972 911S...the earlier decades were actually fun.

I can assure all here that life can be enjoyed without having an early 911. In some ways, enjoyed more than before.

Nice car. Some good ideas. You never know what works and what doesn't until you try it on the road.
He has signature series steering wheels, and branded road wheels. That is all about money and attention.

But I'd gladly take a ride in this car. My expectations are that it is a serious runner that can rack up the miles, love it or hate it.

I guess the new hipster cool thing is to not like Magnus. I don't get it. I'm not a RWB guy but others are. To each his own.
There was long thread about it when he lost his wife, she was so young, it really gives one pause.

I don't think it is so much not liking him, as some of the things he does.

WRT the car in question, like some stuff, don't like other stuff, just like any other car someone else built. Well, almost any other I should say. The 911 reimagined by the sewing machine people pushes all my buttons. Makes me want to commission a 914 from them, but I would rather buy a house for my grandkids or something.

I had no idea. He's never mentioned it.

Tragic regarding Mr. Walker's wife. My deepest sympathies.

Cool looking car. Personally I don't care for appearance modifications, such as cool looking gas caps, bright trim on a 90s car, but the car looks clean!

Magnus doesn't hack up good cars. He takes cast offs and rust buckets and makes them hip again. For that, he has my respect. And admiration. And envy. He has some badass cars. 'Nuff said.

BTW - a lot of the "hate" is envy. How is that saying ... I prefer envy over pity any day ...

I like almost everything about the car.

Almost.

But I hate those tail lights.

And Magnus has been a licensed Cup racer with the POC for probably about 15 years. He does know how to drive and race, but occasionally does have his bad moments. But who of us hasn't?
Yes on both accounts. I been out a couple of times out on drives with Magnus. He an ex-racer so he's been there done that in building race cars. He super nice humble fellow, sad to hear all this bashing

Hell my old college roommate works at singer and meet up with he and rob at his facility for a visit last year Yes their cars have been tracked extensively. If people don't know this before nitpicking and spewing criticism than that's their ignorance.

I'm not sure why all this matters? They aren't race cars. I have a full blown race car with a sequential straight cut box... I can tell you it's the last thing I would want to drive on the streets.

Life is short.

Some people try new and different things.
And succeed and/or fail depending on your viewpoint.
Whatever.

Life is short.

There are as many ways to build a 911 as there are to being an a-hole.

I've been critical of MWs driving vids but am certainly glad no one caught me on film hooning about in my younger days.

I also think I'd like some constructive criticism if this were something I built. This car is not my bag, but more power to him.
