You need to disguise your writing, like Odd-Job-uno

Say it with me: "Baby Poo Yellow"

Point taken. I'll be sure to leave "Caps Lock" on for a minimum of 50% of my post.

And Baz is partially right. Clint stole the line from Don Rickles and actually used to register into hotels as "Larry Dickman". The original use by Don Rickles was meant to be a euphemism for "do I look like I was born yesterday?". But Don would say "Who do I look like, Larry Dickman from Des Moines?"

Thanks - didn't know that about Mr. Rickles....great stuff!

Guess I know just about every line in those Dirty Harry flicks! "The Enforcer' was just on about a week ago....and yes I watched the whole thing - again.

No one should be so unhappy in a relationship - I knew I would survive, and I knew we could carry on as friends and make sure our kids were raised in loving homes. I asked him if he wanted out, he looked so relieved.... We made it work. I never got alimony, and almost no support - I made at least what he did, and over time made more. Never asked for more money - saved it all for college... that was tough some days, lots of Goodwill clothes and spaghetti and sold a Porsche - but I made a promise to myself and my kids, I knew he wouldn't be able to help with college, so I made it work.

He is still a good man, great dad, he just isn't my best guy anymore.

It was a journey I never saw myself taking, but, everyone is happier, I would have been miserable living in a one-sided relationship, it was a rough road to begin with, but when it smoothed out, it had some pretty good sections.
I've just got say to you Fox, with this post and in the context of this thread, finding a finer woman than you would be very difficult.

Well I have to rant somewhere so it may as well be here. Had a "Settlement Conference" yesterday, hash out details and make concessions to push the divorce through.

A 9.6 year marriage so not considered "long term" in which you can be responsible for spousal support for life, access to Social Security benefits, etc. This has been going on for 6 years and I just want it to end.

My lawyer tells me she's looking for long term spousal support. No job (hasn't worked in 21 years) and claims she's 90% disabled (BS) and worried about her financial future (she's had 6 years to come up with a plan).

My offer comes down to sell the main property and split proceeds 50/50, she can have the rental property (paid free and clear, generates $1k per month rent and is worth $175k) and she can keep the 911 (value $35k) and I will pay her $1k per month tax free for 3 years.

My lawyer says I'm being very generous, her lawyer feels it is very reasonable. Slam dunk, sign it off and get on with my life. Her lawyer comes back and says she feels she is "very emotionally sensitive right now" and can't make any financial decisions. ARE YOU EFFING KIDDING ME! My lawyer was pissed, I was pissed. You come to a settlement conference and you can't make decisions? She is koo-koo for Cocoa Puffs, the kid gloves are coming off. We have a mediation conference next month, both lawyers feel the mediator will talk some sense into her. $6500 a day for the mediator, that's going to be on her dime.

I'd return the favor but I hear she's hooked up with some 25 year old.

Larrydickman not long ago: "I understand POP's recommendation to consult an attorney, but I think his "doom and gloom" is a bit over the top. As others have mentioned everyone's situation is different, some of you have really been through a roller coaster ride. I liked getting FP's perspective, she's a smart woman who can keep a level head in a tough, personal situation. It's easy to let anger and animosity rule and that's when the legal bills start climbing higher."

Are those bills high enough, yet?

I hate that "emotionally sensitive" BS. The entire world rotates around the woman's feelngs - that's why they are impossible to deal with. Women suck to deal with. Unless you are getting something from the deal, **** 'em. Avoid

If it wasn't for the fact they have vaginas, there would be a bounty on them.

My lawyer has been pretty conservative in his plan so no wild bills for services that weren't needed. Her lawyer on the other hand had me deposed at a cost to her of around $15k and who knows how many phone consults not to mention court visits.

I'm sure she's up to $40k, me approaching $20k. The mediation meeting should put this to bed. She's going to walk away with a lot less than what was offered yesterday.

live your life?

i understand being sad and all, but i do not understand this depression thing. the men on these boards are beaming proud to be married, have GF etc, and sit and complain that the world revolves around women, and then the second there women are gone, they are all bo-hoy.

as long as you let a woman (or women) define you, this will happen. free yourself. women come and go, love and lust come and go, it happens, get over it. life is for living.

And ^^^ this ^^^ ladies and germs is why you should actually read cp's entire posts, versus giving up halfway through, lest such good material be missed.

I just now saw this thread because I was - really - also in Miami for job training for the first three weeks in June. Wow. I'm stunned. So sorry about this Lee. I hope things work out.
