Wow....that is a fantastic update. You almost never hear such a good outcome like that. Its the best case scenario when you have to part ways.....treat each other like adults, be fair, and stay friends.
congrats, Lee.

Good for you Lee.
My divorce was the best thing ever. Kind of like a knee replacement, you know it will hurt and there will be downtime but afterwards you wonder why you didn't do it sooner. My ex and I are good friends now, better than the last 6 years of our relationship.

If you got along that well at the property settlement, I expect that you'll get along OK afterwards. My ex-wife was a total "B" at the settlement, but we went back to sort-of friends once everything was over. Best of luck in your endeavors!

Kind of funny, our first date lasted 6 hours with a 3 hours dinner and just like you the last hour they were close and cleaning up the place. A suggestion for your second date, Do Not take her to see "Pulp Fiction" like I did ![]() ![]() but she still marry me.

Excellent Lee, I'm glad things are going as well as possible considering the circumstances.

Much more difficult than losing a fair-weather friend, but sounds like it worked out for the best.
You both realized a better path in life, and the daughter will have an expanded extended family in the future. |

Lee, I hope you remember some of the advice from long ago when some said to give it plenty of time and put yourself first. Get out, play the field and have fun.

Instead of emotionally collapsing from the slow decline of my marriage that started years ago, I worked on developing a sense of gratitude, empathy, and happiness... some areas where I was lacking. Those attitudes got me through the past few years, but now, without the stress of the marriage situation, those positive traits have become primary to my daily being. Maybe that's why such a high percentage of the women I've met seem really interested. I'm no Brad Pitt, so there has to be something else they see!

When I said "play the field," I wasn't necessarily meaning the usual sexual interpretation. I was single for many years and could get in the sack with lots of women and did. Playing the field to me was having and meeting women I enjoyed doing things with and visa versa and having a choice of choosing what I wanted and with whom. That removed a lot of the tension over the sex games and allowed both people to just enjoy the experience for what it was. If you're happy concentrating on (investing in ?) one woman at a time, that's your style and it's OK. The fact you've come to terms with developing the "attitudes" you mention is a huge plus for you and your happiness. Congrats.
