I drive 3 different cars w/ manual transmissions. All feel different. Stalling is always a risk.

It looked like a Harley but it sure didn't sound like one. The people weren't speaking Appalachian either.

V-Rod, somewhere in Europe.

WHY?

OP, It is not my place to call you a douche or not, even if you asked. But you drive a 911 cab and you are making fun of a guy that is driving a car bigger than yours because he has muscles?

Right there with ya. 5 manual cars here. I stall one of them (random) 2-3 times a year, generally reversing, because carbs vs EFI, modern vs old, not paying attention etc... No biggie. I still consider myself god's gift to clutches (150K miles on an SC clutch including track days)

Some modern porsches do have a funny clutch/gas combo indeed. I remember the base boxster was awesome, but the Cayman S gas pedal always made it hard for me to pull out cleanly without giving it more revs than I'm used to! No sweet spot like the SC. So maybe the boxster S is the same, dunno.

Sticks are getting so rare they're an anti theft device now, we should all "stick" together..

People with thin skin should probably not drive a Boxster...or a Porsche in general.

They are all different. My Porsche's clutch is smooth, but I stall my Jeep all of the time. No big deal, because stalling is not the end of the world - it could be much worse with a more radical mistake.

Very true.

Been doing the daily commute in my daughter's Boxster the past 2 weeks. Very pleasant little car to drive. Thoroughly enjoy arriving at the office in the morning with wind tussled hair, and getting home in the evening with a nice tan. Nope, have not stalled it yet!

Probably the muscle guy just had to borrow his girlfriends Boxster because his automatic Hummer was in the shop.

Just been on a driving lesson with the youngest. Anyone have any questions on stalling?

I don't get the OP or the humor. Boxster is a nice vehicle and some big guy driving it has an isolated minor stall? Big deal.

Though, I wonder how many of you here have early 911's and have never stalled it. In my observation of newby drivers in the 911 years 1970's-80's the majority (likely all) have stalled them. Includes many with the easy G50 trans. and light clutch.

Am in that field with my daughter too. She was unable to learn on a 2001 Boxster a couple of years ago so she gets a repeat lesson on a Miata this summer.

I had John Walker put a clutch (and synchros) in my '84 and I have had to re-learn the pedal action. I haven't stalled it yet but I've surprised myself a few times by letting the pedal out too fast. I learned on my dad's '67 Austin Healey 3000 and then street-raced my '67 Camaro (built SB and M-22 with Hurst Super Shifter III) for many years. Always had a stick car in the garage. Muscle memory is a big player here and with the new clutch I've had to retrain myself.
