Sexual harassment cost corps big money...and easy money for anyone making a reasonable accusation. I had a sales manager once with a sales rep who was dressing a little provocatively. She came to a sales meeting wearing a suit jacket with cleavage banging out like a 3D movie. He told her she needed to wear a dickie "aka blouse" with that jacket.
She sued us for two years salary, he lost his job, and she settled for a year and her company car. It's like walking on eggshells.

Take that ***** out, get her roaring drunk and then take compromising photos and threaten to release them, or you could just show us...

I'm surprised that a pair of coworkers haven't scammed their company where she claims that he harassed her and they split the $$$

The company is filing a disciplinary action, 5 days without pay, counselling, and it is going on my permanent record so if anything similar happens I will be terminated.

I need to talk to a good lawyer.
I think had you immediately changed the subject of the conversation to "recycling in a modern world suffering from global warming" this would have all blown over. Ok, forget the blown part.

Seriously, one of my neighbors got hit with a sexual harassment violation for answering a female co-workers question with the phrase "ok honey". Months later he got fired when he used "ok sugar". Honestly, here in The South, I think he could have used the "just got back from lunch at the diner" defense as the waitresses address the men with "sugar", "honey", "darlin" etc. etc.

Damn, I don't know any lawyers in OK other than the one you know. but I'm sorry to hear this Richard.

It should go without saying but do not talk to this woman alone, and don't be in a room alone with her.

Got in touch with a couple of criminal lawyers at different firms and they both recommended I talk to the same guy that does Employment Law. Will see what he has to say tomorrow but my future is not looking too bright one way or the other. The damage has already been done.

My oldest brother, has a degree in HR and was a head hunter for years. Says they way overstepped the harassment laws and I should be compensated by both her and the company a LOT for both possible future earnings and family relationships, especially since the business is owned by my other brother's family. Like early retirement/lottery money. And that both her and the HR Director should be unemployed.

Stepped on a roofing nail 6 years ago. It gave me a MRSA infection that almost killed me because the doctors couldn't stop it. Another couple of days and I would have lost my leg at the knee. They did some pretty amazing stuff with new treatments to regrow the flesh they had to cut off my foot. BUT the damage the infection and/or the treatment did to my blood veins has caused all kinds of health problems including insulin dependent type II diabetes, veins popping in my legs and eyes, numbness in my legs and hands, severe digestive issues from one end to the other, and doc says the insulin has caused almost 70lbs weight gain so far. Oh yeah, have to be really careful what antibiotics I take or get horribly painful yeast infections in my mouth, crotch and hands. None of these were ever and issue before the MRSA infection.

I'm supposed to feel lucky to be alive. All medical stuff and the harassment too boot, it is getting very difficult to be happy about anything.

My brother I work for says my problems are all because I am diabetic and don't manage my blood sugar. The doctors tell me different because the issues while similar to diabetes complications aren't responding to therapies like they do with diabetes patients. And my A1C is 6. Doc told me that's great as his wife is diabetic and can't get her A1C below 8.

Thinking about trimming the beard back, getting a short hair cut, and buying a nice tailored suit so I will leave a nice corpse.

No.

The joke is that if you need more graft, you just rub on it until it is big enough.

Whole thing is pretty GD ridiculous if you ask me. Lawyer up and sue them into the stone age.

Apligraf is pretty good, though I think Epifix is maybe a bit better. Much simpler to use too, because it is shelf stable. The Apligraf is living tissue, ships in a styrofoam cooler with these gel things that keep the temp right around controlled room temperature, and you have to use it within like 2-3 days.

I know a foot guy in Moore I can hook you up with. You need to keep that diabetes on a short leash brother. Check those feet really closely EVERY SINGLE DAY when you take off your shoes. You need diabetic shoes and insoles too. Go to your eye guy at least annually, probably every six months would be better.

Make them give you some nystatin or something if they are going to give you antibiotics.

Oh yeah, if you smoke cigarettes I am going to drive out there and beat your ass.

Check the feet daily and go to the wound care podiatrist every 3 months. He is and was a friend. Interesting that my foot doctor referred me to him.

Have custom shoes with insoles to keep from getting pressure sores. Insurance only pays for 1 pair a year.

Wear compression socks, they are expensive. Also coat my legs with some greasy steroid goop twice a day to keep the veins from popping..

Go to my eye doc every 6 months, but see the retina specialist every 2 months. It was monthly for a while. Get shoots in the eye to keep the veins from swelling an popping. Was part of a drug study the first two years that they paid for the drugs, appointments, etc. and got paid $25 every time I got a shot. Think the drug is called Avastin. My right eye is doing pretty well and I see 20/25 after treatment and cataract surgery. The left eye has been hemorrhaging and after 2 surgeries seems to have stopped but is taking a LONG time for the eye to clear out all the blood that was pooled in the bottom of my eyeball. So still can't count my fingers in front of my face with the left eye.

Have a list of anit-biotics on my drug allergy list.

Maybe they want you out because of your health problems? There is NO ONE in that organization that you can trust. You can not say anything important in front of anyone in that company. Your future in that company is marginal at best.

Higgy got it right you were discussing a medical procedure that had NO SEXUAL overtones to it...it was a clinical conversation.. You at this moment can claim stress and depression from this. This is probably very disabling for you with your medical conditions? Attorneys as such can be very helpful in helping to provide for your financial needs going forward.

Attorneys can give referrals to the best guy in town.

IANAL in advance.

To constitute harassment it has to be both unwanted and recur.
Management training 101.

She expressed interest. Ergo not unwanted.
Unless you followed her round the office with your sock off saying 'hey baby you want to see what a foot of dick looks like' it likely didn't recur.

Get a lawyer. Go constructive dismissal.
Also if you are diabetic consider the old standby of out of control blood sugar made me crazy.

Decided long ago that you must talk with women in the workplace with no more vulgarity than you would talking to a 6 year old. If there's any stretch of logic that could misinterpret anything you say as vulgar or sexual in nature, choose different words. It's easy lottery money for the unscrupulous.

That's not sexual harassment. Hire a lawyer, sue them all and when the lawsuit has been settled, shoot this woman and the HR director in their heads, so they can't foist this crap on someone else, down the road.

My sympathies to you.

Sorry to hear of your health and work problems. All good info above. I don't think she has a legal leg to stand on. Yes good to get an employment lawyer for advice. Look after yourself.

This is definitely an Employment Law issue. Do as your friends said and speak with the attorney that practices in employment law field.

Don't even think of speaking to HR until after you are represented and then only do what your lawyer says.
