Court clogging madness. I don't know if or how much you value your job or employer but a solid counter suit on the company would be fun, but complicate your relation with them.
To begin with I don't know of the law of your state but sexual harassment suits are reflective of management or superiors over sub employee and if in fact proven to disrupt them. Its 'hard' to prove and if it relates to keeping a job, advancement, etc.. OP first mentioned as being a co-worker. Define in what capacity.

I feel sorry for the original poster, makes me glad that I work alone in my house. People are crazy. Someone I know said at work a man comforted his co-worker friend by attempting to rub her shoulders to make her feel better after a long week, which the woman laughed off as a fun gesture (he didn't even actually touch her - just motioned as if he would). Another woman outside the cube took notice and made a sexual harassment complaint against the man on the so-called victim's behalf. The so-called victim denied any sexual harassment took place, the guy explained he only offered to rub her shoulders as she complained of neck pains..............I think the issue is still unresolved after two years. No thanks, I'll keep working alone if that's what it is like these days.

Good times. Anytime you know of your upper management affairs, keep it close until the day YOU might need to use it. Reminds me of many years ago working for a private company / division that operated under the F-O-R-D blue oval. Hot shot schmuck prez was married with a very pleasant wife. He hired his best friends young attractive tall blond and naive daughter as a personal sec. Well, they had a very convenient arrangement at the office.
Anyways, this snake reneged and played with quarterly bonus wages and so I called him out during a board meeting. Others were whining but spineless in confrontation. Knowing his lack of respect and corrupt nature, I had already planned on leaving and wanted nothing of a future with him. I also advised knowing of his personal matters while 'at the job' and used it as an Ace to get paid plus negotiate a severance. No argument and I had them cut the check that day. It was awesome.

Did nobody else catch that the OP works for his "brother's family" business?? We have to assume that the OP and this brother are "not close"...

No way I would have offered to apologize, insinuates guilt when there isn't any. If the word "foreskin" is sexual harassment now then half the country will be out of jobs. Although I'm sure she twisted the hell out of the story when making the complaint.
It's funny how a muscular 6'5" hunk slapping ass is harmless to some females, but if an unattractive/older guy that they don't find attractive so much as glances in their direction he is "staring at me like a creep". Selective harassment. |

Ironically I had the reverse happen to me- female boss made a pass and I didn't reciprocate. My life was made such a hell I had to leave after over a decade there.
And now they're criticizing the VP because he made it a practice to not eat with a woman alone. Lads- were f'd. You'd think they can't have it both ways but they do. I wish I could help you I really do. |
