I just replaced all my appliances. I went with Kitchenaid because I wanted everything to match. However, I did buy the higher-end dishwasher which was $1200. So far so good and I was definately happy with my old Kitchenaid which was about 30 years old.
This dishwasher is so quiet you would not think it's on. It also has a much longer cycle than my old dishwasher. 2.25 hours for normal and 3.25 hours for heavy duty. |

I'm curious how the Bosch without a heating element drys the dishes?
Our old dishwasher is due for replacement, anything on the top shelf has to be hand dried, something I would like to get away from having to do.

Small price I think. It's been a good machine for six years. Another three or so and I'll happily replace it with the same. However, if it craps the bed tomorrow I may change my opinion...

Sooo, went in to get a Bosch. Started talking the money side of things and it was fun. Wife actually decided she wanted a specific Miele. "It was used as a show demo."
Me: It is missing several parts. Sales: You can find those at any parts warehouse. Me: It is missing the kick-plate, the upper wand, the powercord, the drain hose, the fill hose, the connectors for installation under the counter. Sales: Those are about $20 - $40 total at any supply warehouse. We are still saving you $300.00. Me: $283.00 before the missing parts. Are you going to throw in the parts since they are so inexpensive? Sales: It is as is, besides they are cheap and easy to find. Downhill from there. Seems all the scratch and dents had the same game being played. Left, went to another store, Wife found a Bosch model she really liked and we bought it. Not in stock, arrives Saturday. So now we have three Bosch appliances. Strange how that happened.

I am getting ready to redo my entire first floor, including the kitchen. I changed the kitchen up completely, so it was time for some upgraded appliances. I have been happy with my LG fridge and Dishwasher, but went with Bosch. If you bought more than 3 things you got a pretty decent discount from the place I went.
Of course I could have bought an SC a few years ago with what everything cost together..... |

14yo stainless Kitchen Aid. DIY replaced a pump and door cable in that time and run on water softener lines. Quiet, cleans well and still going strong.

Had an AEG in my last house and it lasted over 20 years. Very quite and cleaned amazing. Should have as the PO paid over 3 grand for it.
Now have a Bosh now and can't really complain. Cats like the red dot. Flimsy compared to the AEG.

I went with Bosch the last time around because it was quiet and available. I wanted to get a look at a Miele, but couldn't find a local source with one of the floor. They were more than happy to order me one, but not until after I paid for it :^(
I've been happy with the Bosch, though it doesn't have the internal water heater the older Kitchenaid it replaced did. Guess that's the industry standard way of meeting the green label requirements; push the water heat expense to another appliance. Gary |

1200$??? Wow You paid a lot ! I’ve bought Kitchenaid and paid around 900$. Totally new and it works amazing. Maybe it because the location. I’ve bought from IanBoer (company), actually I’m always buying from there and all their products work around five years now with no noise and problems at all. So, it seams to me that I’ve saved 300$ comparing to you
I’ll leave a link, maybe somewhere in the future you’ll need something new and cheap. https://ianboer.com.au

Bosch has a weird trap / sieve in the bottom. It has an open path for odd shaped items to get into the pump / drain hose. Namely fish bones and fish scales that make it past this trap and stop the pump or clog the drain hose. I am not quite sure why they don't just make a continuous sieve that you pull out as needed. It is SUPER annoying to have to unclog. I can see most people not eating whole fish, but we do, so now after fish dinner, plates are pre-rinsed thoroughly and that has helped. Still, a strange design ...
Otherwise the Bosch is great. I wish it had a garbage disposal in the bottom like some American models. I like to put soiled dishes in the dishwasher, if I have to pre-rinse everything, I may as well skip the dishwasher. G |

Dishwasher Question
Aigel we noticed that weird design as well. Our Maytag has a disposal type drain and that seems like the best design. Unfortunately its been acting up of late (electronics and a leaky hose connection) so we are sort of in the market.

I have a two year old Miele. Used to have a Bosch that lasted 20 years. We went with a Miele because it is still made in Germany. Only the very top of the line Bosch is made in Germany. Been very happy with the Miele so far. Extremely quiet.

Heads up, July 2017 thread...
Another old thread resurrected by a bot. But while we're on it, I have all kitchen appliances made by none other than, the dreaded scurge of all things electronic, Samsung! So far, so good. *ducking*

I posted this before. Here's the order:
Miele Bosch Asko or kitchen Aid. I have a Samsung in one of my rental, so time will tell. |
