Ok, so I'm getting close to getting this thing back on the road. Added the requisite RS graphics(purchased from member kt911rs
). Did something a little different with the extra Carrera RS script. Also tried installing my rear glass but whenever I started to pull the rope to seat the rubber it was pulling my headliner out so I had to re-glue it ![]() Pics: ![]() ![]()

Taking another small step towards the final goal. Constructed a new engine grill because I wasn't happy with the way the SC grill fit or looked on the tail. I found some grill material @ Home Depot for $10/grill(2 needed) as I couldn't find a single piece large enough to do the job.
Biggest problem is I didn't have a mig welder handy(don't ask). So I joined the 2 parts the hard way using a spot welder and a big hammer to flatten the welds while they were red hot. Some photos: After I joined the 2 parts ![]() Cardboard template made: ![]() After grill was cut to shape and trimmed with door edging to clean up the edges ![]() Now I just have to devise a nice clean way to mount the grill and maintain the correct curvature

Nice, Ace Hardware in Wahiawa has large sheets of that material. Looks great! I think your 3.6 badge will look great mounted on that grill.

Small steps lately. Been trying to resurrect the dash wiring. Seems someone got happy with wire cutters and butt splices.
No pics today, but I got the tach and oil pressure gauge working. The oil pressure warning sender is missing it's wiring?? Next up will be the level sender and the speedo sensor. None of the gauges were working when I first purchased this car, so I'm ahead of the game for now. Damn rear window is giving me fits and doesn't want to go in

Thanks Pete! I'm hoping to get the rest of the electrical working correctly, and get this thing on the road already

Lots of small steps is all it takes. But you have to take the small steps before you can walk as they say so keep up the work and you will be driving before you know it. So often people forget to make the effort with small steps and their project just sits. I have been guilty myself.

Wiring is definitely one of those things that is very hard to stop and start. Good luck.

Wiring is my idea of a nightmare. It always seems to take hours for just the smallest of jobs. Good luck!

Ok, so I re-re-trouble shot the harness and got the tach, oil pressure, oil temp, oil level gauges as well as the generator warning light working. Also found out why none of the dash illumination was working............80% of the bulbs were burnt out and another 15% were missing altogether. Tomorrow, I may take it out for a trip around the shop to check the speedo operation.
Not a bad couple days of head scratching and probing with volt meters and a self made 3volt rig to help ring out the wires.
