Update: engine and transmission is still out but trim is almost complete. Headliner completed.

Keep up the good work. Great thread. I have a Gulf Blue early 74 non sunroof coupe in the pant shop as we speak. Now I wish I hadn't added the SC flares on the rear.

Here we go...fuel lines replaced and the car is heading back to the shop to get the motor back in!

The old fuel lines were in great shape for being 46 years old.

Good work. My understanding is that the polyamid plastic pipe inside the tunnel are amazingly long-lived and durable; it's the attached rubber hoses that become dangerous. Still good that BOTH get replaced (obvious, I realize, since they are press-fit together), as you've done.

Having had my gas tank overhauled - it was awful - I'm doing all new fuel hoses in my 87 924S (same as 944), retaining the OG metal lines under the floors but replacing the rubber hoses, as per factory but custom-made, authentically and very reasonably by Len Cummings.

Armin, the headliner looks great. Sorry if I missed in your thread, but what did you do with it? Is it new stock, custom made???

The picture is of the old lines. New lines are in the car now and I got those from Len.

It was an ordeal and Dad did it all himself during our 'rona corn teen
The headline was from JP Dansk. Only issue we ran into was it being shorter in the rear left and right quarters. Barely got the front of it over the windshield lip and clipped.

I'm starting a new website for dad pretty soon...He needs to do some Porsche restorations when he retires

Really sorry to hijack, but almost every day I obsessively try to decide what shade of medium darkish blue (metallic) to go on my almost ready for paint 73 Targa - I prefer not to go with the original blue (I wont say which it is to avoid offending other owners)... I think it is more difficult to choose a colour for the Targa because of the stainless roll-bar hoop. I am looking for something along the lines of Ferrari Blue Sera, but prefer to have an original Porsche colour if possible... a bit darker than Gemini, and 324 etc. along the lines of Petrol Blue.

- what colour/code is this darker 74 please? I really like it but dont recognise it maybe 334 in the shade....?

Arminho - your Gulf 74 is really nice, congratulations on your purchase!

Don't apologize! It looks like Blau Met to me, but I could be wrong. Can you ask Rocartfe2?

Maiden Voyage! It’s been awe-inspiring watching Dad bring this car back to life. He’s a perfectionist and we were two happy men today!

+1

Great build.

My Dad passed his original Sepia brown 74 to me. Im going through almost everything, wish he had more interest in hands on. We were 600 miles apart. Logistics didnt work our, but now, im going through almost everything, thinking of my dad.
Enjoy your time together. His car is the keeper, the 308 goes.
regards,
chris
