Could it be the 911 solution to match the ultimate 944 50/50 balance? ;)

Both molds boxed and waiting for the 2 day cure time.

http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1158912416.jpg
Passenger side completed.
http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploads8/11158912440.jpg
The driver side was ready first.
The prototype front fenders on the car had a lot of body work hours in them.
Too many to risk damaging them.
Now the heavy prototypes can be used as spares.
The new fenders from the new molds will be stronger and save a couple lbs.
If anyone needs +4 or +2 front or rear fenders (any FG part on my car for that matter) contact John Simone, he has the molds and makes the parts himself.
GOOD STUFF!

Jack and Sherwood thank you.
Sherwood I really like your front hood prop.
Do you make a rear hood prop that will accept the extra weight of the decklid and wing?
If so I'd like to buy one.

450K and Joseph yes that's my 911 track/street(?) car.
It's all set up for with a passenger seat with 5 point belts and a chatterbox intercom so we can talk about the track during the session.
For me it's not about the speed, it's the competition that keeps it interesting.
Although instructing is my second favorite pass time at the track.
So I'd be thrilled to have a ride along for every session at an OTR event.
This car with the old body and new 710s ran 127.0 at Big Willow.
Since then it lost 200lbs and lost drag.
Maybe with a 200lb rider and good scrub tires, right conditions we can cruise to a sub 1.30?
I should know this week if I can get the day off.

Thanks Dude, I am really enjoying your custom car ramps!
Not sure I'll get 5th gear at Spring Mountain but I am really looking forward to T8 at Big Willow flat in 5th to experiance the reduced drag.
At Jae's shop I saw your big dog on the lift.
Yeah your wide front tires were pushing the width of the early car front spoiler.
These new +4 wide front fenders were made for your car.
One front fender only 3lbs.:D
Have a cigar and think it over.
Agree let's bring'm home in one piece.:)
Good luck at Miller this weekend!!

Thanks Creag, your enthusiasm helps to motivate our small crew.
Please do hop in my right seat should we ever meet at the track.
So is the Henry J going to be restored to stock?
What color?

creag44 09-25-2006 02:26 PM

I will definatly right shotgun with ya for sure!!! That would be a lot of fun. My uncle has had it since it was born and I got it from him not too long ago. When he restored it original shape he make some HUGE restoration flaws that kind of upsets me. But he has left it in a garage for the past 21 years without ever running it or anything. He wants me to restore it to original, but the things he did during restoration make it very difficult to do that now. It is a 2 tone beige and brown, wish I had the pics of it on this comp. I will try and send them to you sometime when I get them from my other comp. But I think I will just make a gasser out of it. Have a street/strip car. Just hope he doesnt find out!!! :D

ted 09-28-2006 10:19 AM

Cool car Creag, yeah I'd make it with a mild small block and a big AC system, and hit the hot rod events. Not likely to see many Js at the events. :)

Props to Sherwood, for his simple, elegant and effective hood props.
His company makes some great products.
http://www.seinesystems.com/
I ran his shifter kit for years and it worked flawlessly.:D
I never missed a shift with his shifter kit.

For about a year I have been enjoying his carbon fiber front hood strut.:D
But still using using a broom stick for the heavy rear decklid and wing.:(
But today in the mail I received Sherwood's rear decklid strut.
Thanks Sherwood, great product, easy to install with well written instruction including pictures.
Took 5 minutes to install, and I'll enjoy it for years.:D
Seine system struts front and rear.
http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1159468066.jpg
Heavy wing and decklid no problem for this strut.
http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1159468127.jpg
The rear strut.
Much much lighter than gas struts and these never need replacing.

Front strut.

Thanks Sherwood for making such a great product.

I wanted to talk to you, you are taking October 11th off.
If your 3.6 is ready take it to Big Willow if not ride up with me and let me introduce you to a very fun track!

Paint smaint I don't want the extra weight.;)
Yeah that blue is very nice....tempting but I was thinking maybe white before the end of the year.

You going to the Vintage races at Coronado on the 7/8?
I have an extra car corral pass if your 911 can make it?

Got it you are going to Big Willow Oct 11 get a full day pass and bring your Helmet.
Oh and don't have anything too heavy for breakfast.
;)

Thanks Jordi,
You might be interested during the lunch hour the track will be open for controlled speed track tours.
No helmet required, but speeds are under 55mph.
Might be fun for you to spend a half hour on track.
Here is the track map and a Link to a cool video of a lap at the track.
This year we will be using the new 3.1 mile, 18 turn expanded road course.
This really is an ideal TT track.
See you there.

I will think about it .. I have done the long track before (at controlled speeds) but never with my car. Last time I was at a track (at non-controlled speeds) I wake up 3 days later in a hospital, make you think a bit before going back.
