Great job,beautiful car

Great vision. looks delicious.

Project of the day was backdating the door panels. Luckily most of the attachment points are still there but I had to drill a couple holes but the biggest headache was scrounging the garage for all the parts to make it work.
Also got the dash trim installed. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1438575672.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1438575710.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1438575734.jpg |
Still need to install the check straps... I'll do that when I install the vapor barrier :(
|
Wow love the colors! Looks so great.
|
Great work thanks for sharing!!!
|
Spent the last couple evenings sorting out all the cut wiring in the trunk. We also mounted the crossover oil lines and starting to mock up the fuel tank mounts as well as the fuel lines.
I'm dreading hooking up all the fresh air system but that's tomorriws project. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1439098073.jpg |
nice build Chris...........

Where do these funny looking parts go???
http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1442121830.jpg Installed the pedal assemble and some hydraulic lines to replace the clutch cable ;) http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1442121946.jpg |
And now that the mechanicals of the interior are wrapping up, we can install the seats.

And taking some critical clearance measurements for the motor.

The door panels are simply reupholstered 69-73 factory door panels.
The dash parts are also factory 69-73 parts but I had to trim the AC side vents so the aluminum panels could sit flush with the rest of the dash. Also backdated the ventilation slider levers. The glove box was 72-73 I believe, and we had to modify the body a little so the latch mechanism would still work. The seats are are Recaro Pole Positions that we cut the integral head rest off and grafted in the eustation tubes and headrests from a 69 seat. Sounds easy but this was fairly difficult and very time consuming to get everything correct. |

Nice work as usual! |
Wonderful work on those seats! Had no idea that was even a possibility. Very much worth whatever effort was required for that final result. Love to see any behind the scenes type stuff for that project.
|
Seats turned out amazing. More photos please.
|
What a nice car and thread! Unbelievable amount of work
|
Chris,
I like the interior Chris. Simple and well done, with the nice touches that you seem to excel at. Well thought out. regards, al PS: Is this one ready for Treffen? |
Thanks, I'll try to find some pics of the seat fabrication. My upholstery guy (McFarland Upholstery) said they were VERY labor intensive! Of course you need to find a pair of donor pole positions and donor head rests/tubes.
Al, sadly the car won't be ready for Treffen. We had some delays with the motor and transmission but it should be all done by mid November. |
