Can someone enlighten me on why these would be reversed? Was this done at the factory for a certain country? Or by the dealer or PO?

How hard is it to swap these buckets?

I'm no expert, but this is my car imported from the US.

UK cars need whats called a 'side repeater' which is usually mounted on the wing, the wing mirror or wraps around the front bumper so the indicator can be seen from 90 degrees. This might be because we have a lot of roundabouts (traffic circles) over here, but I have seen other imported cars with after market indicators drilled straight through the wings above the front wheels in order to satisfy an MOT inspection (DOT in the US).

I might be wrong, but I think the shifting of the light to the edge of the bumper was a quick, clean fix to this regulatory requirement.

I'm happy to be corrected if anyone knows better, and I'm looking forward to my LEDs arriving!

Seems to make sense. If you have to leave the turnsignal bucket on the side, the LED boards will still fit. The direction of maximum light intensity will be towards the side of the car at about a 45 degree angle from the centerline of the car.

The board will work and it will have light intensity towards the direct front of the car. When you do the swap, please put one board in and do some comparisons with the bulb. Hopefully the LED will shine as much or more light towards the front as the bulb.

I did make a front turnsignal board for a pre-'74 bucket. I think the board I have should fit your bucket. It would be helpful if you could send a couple of pics of the bucket with and without the lens.

The boards are $125/pair for all amber LEDs.

All the boards I make are plug and play. I want these boards to be as easy to install as possible and fit and work well. No cutting, splicing, drilling, etc.

The brake LED boards will fit your car and have either a round (RS-like) or square (fill entire cavity) pattern. $90/pair.

Also 3rd brake light board $30/pair. Fits periscope/snorkel or window-mount 3rd brake lights.

Here's the latest board we have now. This is the rear sidemarker board in either amber or red, depending on the color of the lens. These are $30/pair and should fit '69-'89 911/912/930.

The boards are quite bright. They're about 7x brighter than the incandescent bulb. Each LED is as bright as on the brake boards except the side markers have 12 LEDs whereas the brakes have 48. I have a set of these on my car now.

Well, I already have the brake light and front turn signal board. I guess I might as well add the rear turn signal board as well! Sign me up for a red set.

Thanks!

Hi Spoke,
sorry to ask such a question, but do you (or anyone viewing) know what is the brightest bulb (assume LED type) that fits in the headlights as 'city light'?
Thanks, keep up the good work,
Algernon

I may have given the wrong impression of where this board fits. This is a side marker light like shown below on the left. This is not the rear turnsignal board (board on right).

It looks like it will be a while before the rear turnsignal boards are available. Will likely work on the rear turnsignal boards in the fall.

Oh, I misunderstood. Either way, I would like a set of these too!

Please PM me the Paypal info. Shipping cost?

Thanks!

I have just installed the brake lights and rear side markers—and placed an order for the front amber indicators.

Great products and very easy to install. I changed my lights in under 5 mins each side.

And great support too. Questions answered promptly and products delivered quickly and in well protected packaging.

I've been away from the thread for a while.

Can you get me caught up spoke? I have an 85.

Do you have rear turn signals yet for my model?

What about the front signals and running lights? Are they available for an 85?

All that is missing from spoke's package are the rear flashers.
I recently ordered the front position lights/flashers, 3rd brake light, rear brake lights and rear position lights and must say that I'm very happy with what I received and spoke's service.
The only extra I had to do is purchase and install an EP36 relay, which corrected the hyperflashing.
Here's a pic with of the front end with the new position lights/flasher combo.

Question,
In order for the new position lights to be illuminated, did you have your parking light switch on or are they pulling power on their own?

Luigi, the fronts look good.

About the EP36, Luigi found out the part number "EP36" is an old number being reused for LED applications. The first EP36 he purchased was an old, non-LED compatible flasher. If you buy an EP36 flasher, make sure it says "LED-compatible" on the package or part.

Just received another batch of brake boards. Besides being in black, the size of the alignment hole for the securing clips has been increased by 1mm so the alignment pin can be made larger and more robust.

Hi Spoke,

Hopefully sometime this week I will be fitting the LEDs to the 911, but in the meantime I bought one of these, while Lady Wrench was not looking.....

Could you help me out with some lights for this too?

Sure, I could consider it as long as the lenses come off like the 911 so a board could be installed. What does the brake light housing look like? I'm always up for a challenge.

BTW, here's my next challenge. Reverse lights for the 911. Boards are in the fab and should be delivered within a week or so. These will be held on with clips similar to the brake LED boards.

I've finalized the design. I'll look at it a few more times to make sure I didn't miss anything before heading to the fab. Every time I look at it I make some adjustment. Last night I moved an entire row of LEDs, moved the securing holes and moved some resistors.

I still haven't figured out how to connect the sidemarker light with the rear turnsignal. For cars with red or clear turnsignal lenses, connecting the sidemarker light with the rear turnsignal provides the rear turnsignal with running light power to gently light up the rear turnsignal for running lights. On my car I directly connected the sidemarker to the turnsignal board. I may just do that until I come up with a good, reliable single wire connector.

BTW, anyone who has purchased a red sidemarker light will be able to add a rear turnsignal board and connect the sidemarker to the turnsignal board.

Here's what the rear turnsignal board looks like today. This is very similar to the turnsignal board on my car which is partially shown in my previous post.
