I currently have a 2 week old piglet that has both a penis and vagina. I’m not joking.

If you post the pics, including the bum, I think it would captivate Deez and inspire many more butts, that is, butt posters!

Pulled the car cover off the 74 because I’ve got a guy interested in buying it, and needed to snap some shots. 3 hours later it was covered in pine needle ashes. F these wildfires. It got dark at 5pm today.

what you hear is a symphony of generators, what you smell is smoke, what you seeing is trees bending in the heavy wind gusts... forest closed by USFS, and power shut off by PG&E... the joys of mountain living...

Stay safe, bud. We're heading to Cali next week for a few days, and hoping for the best.

It hit 102,000 acres over night, making it the 5th largest in Colorado history. The evacuation area is ten miles away with roads closed 6 mi from the house. We’ve got a massive Canadian front that came in over night. A 100 degree record day Sunday with a high of 34 today. Up to a foot of snow above 7000’ is going to put quite a damper on it, though right now it just smells like when you try to build a campfire with green wood.

In other news I made a ham. I’m pretty proud of myself. It’s a proper applewood smoked ham.

I saw the weather map focused on Colorado yesterday from here saying one would go from summer clothes to winter clothes in a day. Apple smoked sounds interesting. How do you do that? Is it with wood, or with fruit? I used to buy the apple smoked bacon at Costco here. They still sell it. Talk to me Goose! I'm still your friend, if you'll have me.

consider yourself lucky, matt. the weather is on your side.

we're in the midst of one of the gnarliest fires i've ever seen. shaver and huntington lakes are scorched, china peak likely too. pretty sure we've lost our house up there, and many of my friends have lost their homes and businesses. 150K acres, 0% contained, and an enormous amount of fuel left to burn. we had a bad run with the bark beetle about 5 years ago, a lot of dead wood left from that still.

depending on what the winds do, this could get to either/both yosemite and kings/sequoia nat'l parks.

california is faqued right now...

ive been watching that one dave and it is massive with with no end in sight to this point. so sorry to hear about the possible loss of your place. ive been getting ash and by far the worst smoke of the season thus far from a fire due to that event. very little air support has been afforded thus far per my observations on the flightradar24 app i mentioned previously. i think it has to due with visibility and the terrain making it too dangerous to fly. there was a DC-10 and a couple choppers on it for a brief while yesterday afternoon, but nothing again today. so saddened over this summer's events and it ain't done yet.

don't know how close you are paying attention, but many of the national forests have been closed including the Stanislaus up where i am. although they have not mentioned it yet but the start time of 645 last friday night has careless campfire written all over it being the start of the holiday weekend. hoping your place makes it.

how about the other IDIOTS down in san bernardino county that started what has turned it to a large fire with a gender reveal pyrotechnic device? i hope those fuchs are back charged for all the losses.

Agreed. I hope they have to pay. Idiots.

A lot of time the choice of whether to launch the air attack is dictated by structure danger. Our fire here has been going for nearly 4 weeks. They did very little air dumps at first partly because of limited resources but also partly because it was all wilderness. Until last weekend the only structure lost was a ranger station complex.

They will be sending up copters with IR imaging for hot spots tomorrow.

agreed M2, but this fire is at Yosemite's door step and i might expect them to russle up some resources to save that place if it was possible and safe. a fire a couple weeks ago after the lightening storms south of me by like 20 miles had some air support when safe even with all the complex fires burning around the santa cruz mountains, near lake Berryessa, carmel, and at mt hamilton in san jose to patterson.

the state is pulling out all the stops by hiring privateers with dozers, water trucks and aircraft. this fire is as dave mentions in a bark beetle area with a ton of dead trees and very steep terrain. i suspect they'd be flying if they could...

from the guy on generator power and a verizon hot spot... you be safe there too my friend.
