If you really want the best, talk to "Big Ron" Gruener at Jerry Woods Enterprises in Campbell CA. He put together Matt Drendel's 935 that won the concours at both Rennsport III and Amelia Island 2008. Here's an example of his work:

That would look nice - our car could really use something dark in the wheels - the shiny bits are....really bright ;-)

Thanks Nine17, I'll give them a shout. I saw the rest of Matt's collection, didn't see this one though, the 935's were out and about during my visit. That is one beautiful car you posted.

This Moretti/Joest 935 is not one of Matt Drendel's cars. I watched the build of this one from a bare shell -- it was sheer artistry. The Garretson Sebring-winning car Drendel showed this past year came out of Jerry Woods Enterprises later, also by "Big Ron." Also perfect (as the concours judges at Rennsport III and Amelia Island agreed). Your tribute car is going to be a lot of fun!

Nothing much to report, the shop is getting the brakes zinc coated and calipers powder coated (hubs also getting zinc treatment) and they installed the Brey Krause B pillar brace system:

I have since decided to install a rear roll hoop and when the car gets to Zuffenhaus in the next few weeks i'll have more updates.

Brake Fitment prior to disassembly and coating:

BK B Pillar Brace System

You don't need to go to Big Ron or Jerry to get wheels done and pay their frieght.... there are plenty of guys who do wheels . I use Wheel Techniques in Santa Clara . Ask for Jeff or John. I would be surprised if you could not find someone closer to you .

Here is Matt's car at Jerry's with all the bosywork form my old Coca~Cola cars laying off to the left

Hi Still looking great.

I have a question what is that zipper doing in the roof?

I can see it on one of the pics showing the BK brace.

Hey Gabe,, I'd consider a full cage.. I LOVE watching my date climb in and out of mine (Britney Spears style if you know what I mean )
Good move on the roll hoop, it adds a sense of "meanness" like you need it LOL
