If anyone has an early Porsche PET CD-ROM from the early 2000's you have the part numbers listed for the Porsche Sonderwunsch/Exclusive cars. The parts, if I recall were in one of the final chapters on the disk. The pages were organized in Interior, Engine, Body. I know they were covering the Sonderwunsch models because it had the front mounted oil cooler and lower fog light part numbers.
Unfortunately, I lost mine during one of my many moves in the Boston area during my companiy's many expansions.........but, if the are any Porsche pack-rats out there, you may be in luck.
As a last resort, the Porsche 930 SE's utilized the same steering wheel. The Porsche Club of Great Britain has a 930 SE Group and you may want to contact them. Very good chance they may be able to help you out.

That would probably be an excellent resource for this.

You guys might be interested in listening to Robert Linton talk about the build of the last slant nose on the Overcrest Podcast.

I thought it was a pretty interesting interview.

The 3 spoke wheel you refer to was an Italvolanti wheel called the ATI Type F and was available to order through the Special Wishes Programme. The wheel itself was used as standard on the post '86 M506 cars delivered to the UK only. Non-UK markets didn't have it as standard. However along with cars predating 87, the wheel is often seen on other models because it could be ordered through the Special Wishes Catalog.

According to my Special Wishes brochure and price list it came with 2 order codes: 'SOW 115' (DM 1282) which was the wheel in black, and 'SOW 116' (DM 1795) which was the wheel in interior leather colour.

The one I had as a spare had the code KBA 70008 on the reverse. The matching gear-knob 'SOW 132' cost an additional DM 297-DM 323 back in 1986.

On a separate note, the Porsche Club GB (PCGB) 930SE register was merged back into the broader 930 register about 12 months back - which is disappointing. The current register secretary for the 930SE group has unfortunately let it rest with no activity according to a committee member I know. That said, the archive materials that Barry Smith and Phil Clarke brought back from Germany some years back (per the info on this thread many pages ago) is still held.

Well how cool is that, the first ever slant nose didn’t even stay a slant nose for long. I wonder why they did that, returned it back to stock form after 2.5 years. Imagine coming across this 911 Turbo for sale claiming to be the first ever slant nose, yet without the slant nose bodywork, what a strange conversation that is. The blasphemy of it all to reverse such a thing, but maybe at the time they didn’t think they’d ever offer it as an option so they didn’t want it out there.

What a great find, thanks for sharing.

So early with the 928 lights (not yet launched), funny porsche only used that style 15 years later on the 94 964 flatnose.

The first flatnose from porsche were of course Hammerheads do funny they turned full circle

Also b+b tuners did a series of these style flatnose

So as mentioned, Porsche played with the 928 headlights on the 930 in 1977.
DP Motorsport was using 914 mechanism, question is when did they start their 1st conversions ?

Now I’ll have to buy piles of old German car magazines to fulfill my curiosity about this period (not that I don’t already have a few).

Here’s the period magazine mentioned in the book for reference (as found on eBay) :

I know this is an old thread. But does anyone have a copy of this and how does it compare to the actual cars?

I would look at it as a technical supplemental to the existing Porsche Manuals. Since the 505's were primarily cosmetic, except for the brake duct-mounted oil cooler, windshield/headlight washer and headlight mechanisms, it is a light read. It was not intended for the Sonderwunsch models, but for the later 505's, though I've used the information in the doc to check headlight adjustments. It could be used to differentiate the clones from the real deals.

I have both the book and a M505 car. It's accurate. What do you want to know?

Just chased a headlight motor wiring anomaly without that book. Figured it out but a good wiring diagram would have been a great tool to have. Would love to have a copy. Anyone know where to buy one?
