As you know I have a 89 slant also. It would not be the first to go nor the last. Stay tuned. Lots of nice 930's will be out there for you if you decide to get another.

Ok Gents,
I have been presented with a deal that I do not think I can pass up on so please tell me why I'm being stupid or why you would agree. I have been given the opportunity to trade (plus a little cash) my 1988 M505 turbo (~48Kmiles) AND my 1996 993 (tip ~110Kmiles) for a 1996 993TT. A few of the details my M505 is all original and in great shape can't say enough about it: ![]() The 993 is an excellent condition driver but it's a tip: ![]() As for the 993TT, it's got ~35Kmiles is in very clean cosmetic condition and is a two owner car with all records. It did have a complete repaint due due stone guard replacement that pulled the paint. I've seen the pictures so I know it's true. The repaint is to show finish standards and is perfect. I would say better than factory so it's not an issue for me. ![]() ![]() ![]() Okay have fun and let's hear what you all think....

Like I told you in rennlist, your 505 is worth nearly as much as the 993tt, it's like you're throwing in the 993 tip.
The 993tt w those miles is a 68-80k car depending on condition, ppi etc. However..... Your slant is worth 50-70 now. A sell it today price would be 60k IMO. No idea on a hi mile na 993 tip. How much are they asking on the 993tt? If they're askin 80, giving you 60 on the slant, maybe it's not so bad afterall. GL either way! I just sold my slant and miss it already. I'm pretty much in agreement in agreement with everyone here. Kilodawg, saying it would be stupid, would be kind of harsh.
The factory slants have been appreciating at a good rate as of late due to the state of the economy versus the collectable market. I think speednme1 is on the mark with suggesting you sell your slant on the open market, then search for the 993TT of your dreams. Arena Red 993's are not the most desirable for some reason. If you sell your slant outright, you can go for the color you choose, not what someone chooses for you. For some odd reason, the factory slants appear to have gone up at a faster rate than the 993TT's. It may be due to the fact the slants are now in the 30 year vintage range where limited production vehicles hit their sweet spot. I don't know. IMHO, I think you may be throwing at least $10K out the window with the trade option presented to you.

Thanks guys, A few things to consider. I love the color combo of the TT and doing the deal this way I pay no tax. Also as I said the paint is new and flawless. A big plus for me. Not a chip, scratch or swirl anywhere. And I'll be getting about $3-5K as well...

Your car as everyone has said.. factory 505, rare/unusual color combo, reasonable miles and very clean.. I think puts you @ $60k in todays market. The 993 tip w/100k + miles. Well, I've seen those in low to mid $20s 993TT in condition as described about $70K Color combo.. there were a lot of them around in arena red/grey, or blk. I have a bud that just sold his 97 993TT Speed yellow, Ruf wheels & suspension otherwise bone stock.. 14K mi Hew was under $100k and well over 70. Car is impeccable and all original minus wheels and susp. My thought is trade the 993 tip and pony-up cash.. I think you'll regret selling the slant... and I'll regret not buying it!!

What do you guys think of this 79 dealer slant conversion with a Ruf 5 speed transmission and K27 turbo? Price is a bit high for a conversion but it appears very nice. DANIEL SCHMITT & CO CLASSIC CAR GALLERY PRESENTS: 1979 PORSCHE 930 TURBO for Sale in St. Louis, Missouri.

^^^^car looks to be in very nice shape. I love the interior. The conversion looks nicely done. Price?.....IMO...too high. Around $40k would probably be the ballpark.

I just joined and the wealth of information in this thread is amazing...
I'm looking at purchasing a Slant Nose and it is a gray market car, or at least I am sure it is based on the Autocheck and title stating under mileage that it is exempt... It is an '85 non turbo...I am amazed that the VIN doesn't give away any type of designation based on codes... Based upon raj911s post on page 19; - Chassis no: WPOZZZ93ZCS000936 - Engine no: 67C0980 - (Chassis and engine are matching numbers... type 930771 coupe) - Country spec: C26 Singapore - Exterior colour u3: Zinn metallic - Carpet colour 1VD: champagne - Gearbox Type: G93034 - Gearbox Nr.: 77C0990 Z-Order" (Z stands for Zusatzauftrag) used for special wishes The option list included all country-specs © as well as the "special wishes" (F) options (flat nose conversion). The VIN for the vehicle I am considering - WP0ZZZ91(ZF)S****** Does the Z and the F designate the same as in his VIN, Zusatzauftrag and flat nose? $59,900 seems high for an aftermarket slant. The Ruf trans would be neat and that is worth $10k+ alone. I agree with speednme1 on the ballpark of the price.
