Not high butterflies, but here's my beautiful set of rebuilt throttle bodies for the 70E sporto I'm putting back together. Henry and his crew do some nice work.

There's a lot going on with this pump. Can you tell us about it?

First the RSR replica cover was designed and manufactured by Aaron Burnham exclusively for Supertec. As you can see, it's work of art. It varies from the original RSR cover in that it has a boss to mount our enrichment device. The original thermostat can also be mounted. This is a cable operated enrichment device that allows the drive to control the mixture for start up. This is the 3rd generation and we believe the improvements move it to the next level. If you own a 1st or 2nd generation device, we would be happy to up-grade yours for no charge. Simply send it back Years ago we decided that hot engine oil in the pump made sense only if you ran a cold start thermostat. So with a enrichment device, sealing the pump was a no brainer. As the pump heats up, pressure builds inside so if you seal the pump you have to run a breather. We made this breather a bolt on item the make it user friendly. The fuel fitting were originally designed to accommodate the tight space engine compartment on a 917 replica. We were so happy with the results we decided to add it to our list of products. Making custom fuels to match the fitting was the logical next step.

Henry, tell us a bit more about the ITG vs the K&N filters used in your earlier high performance builds please. Do the ITG’s have superior air flow? Does it just come down to aesthetics? I note the ITG’s come with base plates that allow custom mounting/machining to mag, plastic or individual stacks to match the intakes. This seems to be more flexible than the K&N option which is predrilled for carbs. Regards, Andrew | ||

First, dyno sheets show an increase in performance with air filters installed vs. no air filter. We did not do a comparative dyno run with K&N. Aesthetics is always a consideration. ITGs offer high quality filtration with a "period correct" feel. Perhaps the largest factor is the universal appeal of the ITG. They allow us to custom fit them to a plethora of custom intakes. We're really happy with the way they fit on our custom high butterfly stacks. With ITG air filters Without air filters
