does the sump plate use regular washers or sealing washers ?

cant quite make it out in Waynes book .

my original setup on my 78 sc is looking like regular washer, spring washer regular nut. I was going to put on yellow zinc nyloc with a yellow zinc flat washer for that nice finished look but then wondered if I am supposed to be using some kind of aluminum sealing washer like the valve cover guides.

Thanks in advance.

The sealing washers aren't needed if the studs are loctited-they just prevent leakage past the threads. I'd say use whatever you think is prettiest-is that word?

Garage
We use a very thin coat of Curil T on both sides of both gaskets and large diameter steel washers.
The sealant prevents leakage and the larger washers prevent sump cover deformation.
Just another thought.

Get a box of nyloc flange nuts and make the nuts & washers one with each other.

Box of 50 yellow zinc class 10 (overkill) is $9 or a box of 100 white zinc class 8 is $5.37
