I don't think the extra line will cause any issues. The scavenging system on some of the twin turbo setups gets pretty complicated and they seem ok.

I do agree with 350HP930, if you can have it re-indexed now is the time.

I'll reclock the turbo so I have room on the left side. I knew that was gonna be the best way to go, but just needed a little push

Thanks!

Just -6AN the camera makes it look bigger then it really is

Edit: oh I thought you said tubing...the hot housing is 1.06 a/r and the cold side is 0.60 a/r...should be enough for 500 Hp/Tq

I don't see a location listed for Vito, but if he lives here in the US I suspect he's one of the many who doesn't care where his widgets come from or how a company operates its business, as long as he's got his . . .

Who knows, maybe he got his knickers in a bunch while reading my post because he operates one of those american companies that stuffed a few extra bucks in his pocket by laying off their american workers and sending the jobs overseas?

Captain, I started building my wiring harness today and thought I would show you a picture of how it comes together.

A really cool thing is how much thinner the insulation is on the new wires. When I first got the wires, I had to double check that there were the right sizes. They were that much thinner.

They were out of the 12gauge yellow so I am waiting from the to get some before I can completely finish.

It's a GSF IC unit. There aren't many folks out there that make one suited for the Carrera intake manifold. I've got more pics on my phone so PM me your email addy and I'll send lots of pics over to ya.

nocarrier, I am also researching full width intercoolers that will work with a 3.2 intake and here is what I found.

The GSF unit the good captain has is the most economical at $800.

Next in line is a Bell unit that DonE had designed. They can be replicated for $1400 (that is two year old data.

After that is the Blown Six Design for $1800. e-man930 has one of these on his car. I have heard rumblings of customer service and shipping issues with Blown Six in the past but that is hearsay and I have no experience with them.

After that things start to get pricey.
TurboKraft quoted ~$3300 for their full width with billet end tanks.

- fully welded intercooler with billet front tank
- quick disconnect couplers included and welded front & back
- 3x billet mounts – 1 at fan, 2 on rear; not welded on, to be final fit onto the engine in the car
- bolt-on throttle body flange & hardware
- mandrel-bent aluminum tubing to make the inlet & outlet charge pipes

If you have a stock rear wing, and depending on which intake manifold you have, we may be able to make this a finished bolt-on assembly by doing the final fab work on one of our mock-up engines. If you have a Carrera manifold, we would have to get your manifold in order to weld on the 2 rear mounts. I’d estimate a day’s labor to do this, $800.

Spezialmotorer quoted me 3000 euro for their full width beast. Last time I spoke with them they were working out casting issues and were not quite ready for sale. The upside is that the end tank could serve as a bomb shelter for a small family.

If money is no object MODE makes a killer billet unit. The guy that owns this one paid $7000 Canadian in 2009.

CaptainCalf, I apologize for clogging your thread with intercooler info. If you would like I can move this post to the 930 forum.

Edit: Oops, Sorry that was Willtel not (NoCarrier), that's good info and thank you for sharing!

The GSF intercooler is the most economical but will require some fab work to get mounted, but if you have a torch it's not anything major...

Wow that mode IC is something else!

Thanks for the great info on IC's ! Ive been tossing around the idea of making one myself or just buying one. It'll all come down to cost vs effort vs time vs the estrogen unit.

We'll see what happens..........

I'm in the same boat but my ability to fabricate one is only in my dreams. I wonder if Bell would cut us a deal if we ordered two?

IC mounts

I had 3 hrs this morning...ran for 1 then fabbed for 2

Part of the IC sits over the C2 intake so I was able to use one of the existing bonded rubber mounts to support a bracket and I drilled and tapped an ear on the other side of the intake for another bonded support.

The brackets are made from 1/4" alum bar stock and the bonded supports are M6x1.00.

question will that work with a rear window wiper? Kinda like actually being able to see out the back window on the way to work in the morning.

Ken911, I don't think there will be room for the big honking wiper motor, but can't be sure until I stuff it all in there.
