Thanks 911tweek!

I've put clamps on push on SS lines that don't even need them, so you know I'll be clamping these

I mocked mine up with rubber fuel line then took to Amazon and had them make with stainless steel... Fuel is not one of the areas where I trust the connections...

Looks great though - looking forward to seeing the finished product.

Agreed Jeremy! All my pressure lines are SS and most are Amazon SS w/ teflon inside. The rubber return lines IMHO don't need to be as heavy duty

What a great project here. Thank you for sharing your journey with us all here. I'm inspired to go out to my garage and clean something.
PM me on that fuel accumulator... My engine is out but I think my accumulator was on the fritz last summer. (intermittent hot start issues)

Last box of EFI parts

The final EFI parts are on the way, so I should finally have the motor in within a few weeks

In the meantime, I replaced the motor mounts with a set of sport mounts and pulled the flags for sanding, priming, sanding again, base coat, sanding again, top coat

Anybody ever paint their flags black on a red car???

Thanks RSRFan, IMHO if those flags were flat or even satin they would look much nicer.

Did you order you seat mounts from sparco or fab them? Are they adjustable?
Car is looking fantastic! Wish I had more time to work on mine.

Thanks 5.7GT1

I bought both the adapter/seat base bracket and the sliders from Sparco.

Sparco USA

However, with your skills you could fab up the adapters in no time, but since they were so cheap I decided against making my own: cut/weld/grind/paint/repeatx2

CV Joint Rebuild

Today I pulled the CV joints apart and found 1 outta 4 is acceptable to reuse, so I'm replacing all 4.

I took the time to label and organize the parts in case I reused them:

Did you see a lot of galling on the balls, or the races? I've taken a lot of them apart over the years and the always seem reusable...

As you can see by the way I kept everything in order I figured I'd see minor wear and would be able to reuse them all, but that was not the case. The balls all seemed fine and reusable although some were discolored. 3 of the 4 races had deep cruves & pitting where material has worn away over the years. Only 1 set outta the 4 was acceptable. Looked like only one of the 4 had been serviced, so the grease in the other 3 was dried and full of metal shavings which I'm sure added to the wear seen.

Not sure what kinda interval these CV joints should be cleaned and repacked, but I think 25 years is prolly pushing it

I don't think it's a good idea to work on ball races, because they are hardened (in your case probably no longer).

They will have too much play which can cause failure and wear immediately..

Look here:
