Ian Anderson.
Apparently he rides old bultacos. slowly. and very stoned. But jethro Tull was an awesome show band; caught their act many times in my wayward youth.

That's true, I confess, which makes it all the sweeter to buzz by those young stunters using only 4500 rpm. Nice graphics, sonny boy!
BTW, Bradz is also old and (as usual) trumps us all with his first-hand biking "experiences" with the old bard hisself!

in my own defense, ian anderson was/is one very strange dude. had his own zip code. wouldn't ride anything but an ossa, wouldn't wear a helmet, insisted on wearing knee-high moccasins while he rode. we enjoyed gorman, texas canyon and the lucerne valley area. he made numerous "mental enhancement stops", plus on one trip, stopped to...ahem...sunbathe on a large flat rock. i think we averaged about 3.7 miles per hour on our rides....but to tell you the truth, i can't really remember, on account of wanting to be a good host and keep him company during the numerous stops that were always required. (this was a guy you really didn't want to lose track of while showing him around). while he was definitely the most under-protected rider i think i've spent time with, he was also the most....ummm.....relaxed.

what? no bultacos? that must have been last tour.
I guess dirt ridin' hs different rules for rider altitude/elevation/cogination (of COURSE it does!)

nope, he insisted on riding an ossa. wouldn't touch anything else.
it was the ossa distributor that hooked us up. he was nice enough to supply me with two brand new bikes. i was smart enough to leave one home and ride something better.

yep. the leatt brace is also sold through KTM, (same brace, but in orange) same price.
bmw should have one floating around too. oddly enough, the price is the same as leatt and ktm.....probably a first for bmw stuff, eh?

just about everybody is saying it takes about two or three laps on a track (4--6 minutes) to get comfortable with it. most of the guys are saying that after those first few laps of practice, they don't even notice it's even there.

Hi Brad,
I ordered mine last week directly from the Leatt-Brace web site (and paid the $265 to have it shipped to Switzerland) ... but I am disappointed with their customer service ... no confirmation of order and no response to my equiries on delivery dates ... maybe they are growing too fast .. but it doesn't take too much effort to respond to an email or send out a confirmation. Post Script : I spoke too soon - Reached them on the phone ... their email system had been down ... order has been shipped ... will report on arrival ... will be wearing it on Centopassi ... I will be insterested to see if any of teh otehr 200 odd riders wear one ...

I hope my company declares a performance bonus soon. Between new Vanson leathers and this, I'm gonna need all of it.
Did you guys ever stop, take stock of all the motorcycle stuff you have? Whew it's a pile!

The cervical spine is much more easily injured in deceleration injuries, like wrecks; the head keeps going after the torso stops and the neck hyperflexes and or hyperextends. Our rule of thumb is that 1 in 6 patients with significant head injury also has a significant neck injury, and we treat all of them as though they do until they get an X ray. In my 30 years in Emergency Medical Services, I've seen lots of broken necks. I'm getting a brace.
