Pete,
your missing the point: Buy them and ride out to Scotts house, have him help you install them,(which he installs them ![]() Sounds like a great justification for a road trip. ![]() jeff

things like scott's clamps and (far as i'm concerned) better suspension & brakes, all help a lot to cut down the learning curve. you're gonna make mistakes. we all do. as a relatively new rider, you'll make relatively more mistakes. many times the bike will compensate and get the two of you straightened out again. in pre-motoyoyo clamp days, i've had a few eye-opening tank slappers on my 11s. jeff williams saw one incident, and he's still seeking therapy to try and erase the memory. i like crisp handling. i like well tuned suspension. i like confident brakes. the more you improve the bike's capabilities, the more it's probably going to bail you out....the good way.

Jeff, thanks for the great comments about the clamps. I'll pay you the steak dinner I owe you at the Central Coast TC...oh wait you're paying for the steak on that one. Well, I'll at least serve your dinner for you.
![]() Pete, road trip baby! Ride on out, stay over at my house and I'll get you set up for the trip back. shreddr, I'll get Mike to look at what I have drawn up already even though it is not final. Hopefully, get ab ball park idea what kind of price we are looking at on those R1200S top clamps. bradz, thanks for chiming in with great comments. Also, I never thanked you for the testing you did on the very first V2 proto clamp set. It seemed we both zeroed in to the same problem with the "over lightened" top clamp I was trying to prove out. You described it exactly right by saying it felt great on the lower portion but a little flexy on the top 6 inches on the fork legs. With your observations backing up what I had also noticed I was able to go back and make the changes necessary to deliver an awesome V2 clamp package for everyone that ordered a set, including you too of course. Sorry about having you make two trips for two seperate installs. Glad you are still enjoying them. Crisp handling, well tuned suspension and confident braking makes so much difference. Come to jeff's TC and I'll serve you a steak dinner too. ![]()

Scott you tool.
Steak dinner is being served by the guy who cooked last year. We worked out something,(trade out) and it will be a 4 course meal, appetizers, steak, chicken, veggies, desert, drinks, done by his servers. I knew you would weasel out on serving brad and I. My wife said the same thing when you went out with her 30 years ago. ![]() Really she said you were sweet and shy. Boy did you fool her. ![]() much love jeff

ergomoto, thanks for the key holder and fork cap order. Received your paypal so you are good to go. Conventional handlebar controls...? What? Are you trying to cause an accident? No one around here knows how to use those things any more.
![]() EZ-Rider, I have your info along with some other questions sent to Mike and will let you know when he gets back to me. Ok, we are getting close to the minimum order numbers on the triple clamps. Not so much interest going on with the key holders and fork caps, but I'll check with Mike and see about a smaller run on those parts. I have decided to call in roughly 50% deposits for your orders starting now thru the start of the machining. If you would rather pay 100% up front that is ok too. I need to send Mike a 50% deposit for him to order materials and begin machining, so I wil be sending your 50% deposits on to Mike. The remainder will be due when I have the finished parts and am ready to send them out. I will ship your parts as soon as I receive your final payments. Here are the minimum amounts you need to send in between now and when the machining starts: Triple Clamp Sets...... $285 USD Deposit or Paid in Full Key Holders................ $20 USD Deposit or Paid in Full Fork Caps................... $20 USD Deposit or Paid in Full I will be taking orders on all parts right up to the last minute, so if anyone is thinking about getting in on these billet jewelry items, now is the time. I am waiting to hear when Mike has shop time scheduled for running these parts. That will be the zero hour and all orders will be finalized at that time.

EZ, I'll put you on the list for the parts, thanks. The deposit for those parts will be $40. I'll send you an email telling you where to send the deposit. Thanks
Everyone that is ordering parts and wants to leave either a deposit or full payment should either PM me or post how I can contact you. I will give you my paypal info and/or address where you can send a check for the payment. I am keeping the order lists at the beginning of this thread up to date with the current status on all orders. Give it a check over once in a while to see that your order info is correct. I have also made a few updates to the key holder and fork cap pics to show them a little better. Give it a look.

It's tempting, Jeff, to ride to California! It's a future goal. The farthest West I've ridden was Wyoming.

Actually, Pete went to his local BMW dealer with the triple clamp exploded view drawings and inquired about having them instal the clamps. Even though they are aftermarket items the dealer aggreed to do the installation for him at the regular shop rate. That's good news for Pete and anyone else that may want a dealer to do the work for them too. Got you down on the list Pete, thanks.
Is anyone having difficulty viewing any of the pics on this thread? I had one person contact me about not being able to view the pics. I hosted them all on photobucket this time so that's obviously the problem. Is this just a security setting issue on the viewer's computer or is there possibly some other cause that in blocking the pics. Not good if people can't see the pics I have posted.
