More correctly “air temperature input manipulation”, using resistors or anything else.

I have, once or twice, compared my subjective experience with a competing product with the subjective experiences of other people using Robert's product. I did this in good faith after watching other members do the same. Also, I have spoken with Mr. Foster myself and he provided me with excellent advice for an exhaust project - so I am in complete agreement with your general assessment of his contributions. Also the fact that it did not involve pre- or post- sale service - just plain old good advice - impressed me quite a bit. I shall try to appreciate the quirks of the senior members and go back to lurking.

Hi eeny,
I hope you stay around for more than lurking. I did not mean to say you critiqued Robert's products, but only that you seem tired of the more marketing-oriented end of his input, and that others are equally tired of the critique thereof. Always glad to have input on the board. Quote:

Why do you care if this thread stays on topic Robert, you don’t seem to care about any other thread.

I'm sending out a case of anti-panty-bunch spray this xmas. 10 for domestic consumption, and at least one each for north of the border, and one WAY WAY WAY south. heh-heh.

I slammed one finger in a drawer today, and ripped a calf muscle yesterday (thus so much on the keyboard, and missing a couple trackdays this weekend - grrrrr) Is that enough?

Nothing quite so pinpoint. It had been tight for a week or so. Then on the starting line of one of the SV races last weekend, a guy hit me a second or two into the race and put his footpeg into my calf. Was really sore, but good until yesterday. Then, just backing a bike down a ramp, it tore. The down a ramp backwards was just too much hyperextension. Good times.

I'm with Robert. A lot of guys spent a lot of time brain storming this topic. I'd like to see if anyone has had any success. While I personally don't have the knowledge or desire to invent my own resistor tuning device, I would like to know if this line of tuning works.

I'd say if the l-users whining about the FRK spent 1/2 as much time actually tuning as verbally blovinating they'd be done and have a fast scoot by now.
I would consider an FRK, or actually an RBIII but I have my wideband PCIII sorted out to my satisfaction. some people just like to complain. some people pretend to have multiple personalities while actually suffering from dementia some people are just penis-craniums ![]()

I was able to take a couple of minutes today to put my IAT spoofer together today.
![]() Here's the 10k pot, and 10k fixed resistor soldered together with the Bosch pigtails. ![]() Installed in the mini hobby box. ![]() Result. ![]() The entire assembly took about 1/2 hour to put together, and allows adjustment of resistance from 9.67k ohms to 19.67k ohms just by turning to knob. Simple. Ill be measuring the IAT "temperature" on a friends bike that has a similar spoofer installed. From numerous accounts on the web, I'm guessing that the spoofed temperature will be in the -25C range. We will see... Once I get a baseline temperature to aim for, all I'll have to do is turn the knob on my device and watch the temperature fall via the GS-911 and a notebook. Hopefully the 9.67k ohms to 19.67k ohms range of my spoofer will be enough. If not, Ill just solder in additional 10k hm resistors to the circuit till the temp via the GS-911 hits the target range. |
