OT - What is with the weather up there?

In Hamilton, NZ, And sunny 25/27c days rite now, summer seems to have come early here, an maybe looking like it mite be a long one, so does that mean the northern hemisphere is going to have a long an cold winter i wonder... All year round riding here, if you don't mind some wet, an cold, but only down to 0c in the north island... I usually get a good full day ride in every couple weeks, year round, some shorter rides also... Jeremy

Maximum annual snowfall:1122 inches (93.5 feet) fell during the winter of 1971-1972 and set the record for snowfall in that year.
Minimum annual snowfall: 313 inches (26 feet) fell during the winter of 1939-1940.
Maximum snowpack: 357 inches (30 feet) fell in March 1955.

4. Does the snow at Paradise ever melt?
Although Paradise is the snowiest place on Earth where snowfall is measured regularly, it does enjoy a brief but glorious snow-free season.

Well, winter has come to western NY. Have been carving turns on the white stuff, and we actually had "powder skiing" here, for the first time in a long time. Areas S of Buffalo in the lake effect bands had up to 4' over the last week or so. But that isn't enough to even slow us down.

But 40's and rain coming over the weekend, shouldn't wipe out the snow, but ski conditions will suffer.

Strike my words from 2 days ago, rain wiped out a foot of snow, and now they are forecasting up to 3/4 of an inch of ice, and/or up to 3 inches of rain.

Looks like a white Christmas might be gone. Bought gas for the generator, in case the ice does develop.
