It has been a month and she still is not back to work.
She also works in heath care. Talked to her the other day and she is missing her bike riding but taking the recovery very seriously.

Hope you are feeling better soon.

Sorry to hear of your fall, Paul.

Obviously a warning for you to be more careful.

Working in this heat and humidity takes a heavy toll on the mind and when doing stuff like you're doing you have to take breaks - lots of them.

Sorry if I'm off base - just sharing my thoughts, FWIW, from someone who has BTDT.

I has a ladder incident last year - the ladder actually fell down while I was about 2/3 up (it was a 16' extension not extended at the time) and I landed on top of the ladder right on my buttocks. Huge bruise and very sore butt - but luckily no other issues. Could have been a lot worse and I took it as a sign to realign my precautionary measures.

Hope your friends get you all buttoned up. In this area I think the worse two days will be Tues. and Wed.

Your project is coming along - thanks for sharing the really great pics - good luck, bruddah!

Last weekend I sprayed the siding plywood with bleach and started installing the house wrap. I'll wrap the walls top to bottom.

Roof was started Thursday and finished up today. Here it is....

Got a roof on it just in time. There's a storm headed our way tomorrow and we are due to get a couple of inches of rain.

Nice job!

All those roof angles and cuts are hard work.

Thanks. I've got valleys running to two directions. If I hadn't had wanted the corner to be an interior corner I'd only have 1 valley and much easier.

Paul, sorry to read about your fall, not sure how I missed that, great to see some progress, you must be very pleased to be back into it

You're carpentry skills are outstanding, doesn't look an easy roof but you sure nailed it

Glad to see your build is weather proofed

Thanks to everyone for asking about my fall but I was back at work within a few days. I do have a new rule- my wife has to be watching me when I'm going up/down the ladder. I still don't remember falling, getting up, or walking in the house. I have a very faint memory of laying on the ground. I had a concussion so I took it pretty easy for awhile.

When I built my man cave garage before I framed the windows and entry door I went to a local surplus warehouse and purchased . Got them home then framed accordingly . I can't imagine being so close and having to wait for the delivery. The build is coming along nicely .

Overdue Update;

I've had electricians working for the last 4 days. I'm adding a 60 amp sub-panel. This will have everything in the garage fed from it. I had them add a 30 amp dedicated receptical for my welding machine and also a pull down extension cord on a reel. There will be 8 total outlets and I'm having 4 8' LED light fixtures being mounted to the ceiling joists.

I have the door and window now but haven't been in hurry to install them. I've been trying to address some of the existing conditions of the original utility room. It has 1/4" masonite on the walls and it in pretty rough shape. I'm pulling it off and cleaning up some of the wall framing. I'm adding shelving up high to store big bulking items like coolers and other gear. The plan it to keep as much as I can off the floor or if it is have it on wheels. Drill press, chop saw, welder, table saw- all on carts.

I'm doing my best to get it dried in and inspected by the end of the year so I can get out of my storage unit. But I'm missed every self imposed deadline so far so I can always wish for it. More later.....

Looking good Paul , you are getting near the finish line 😀 What are your plans for finished walls and ceiling ? That Florida sun/heat can be brutal through the roof as you well know . Keep the updates coming and happy New year 😊

The interior walls will be 1/2" plywood for the first 48" with F-glass batt insulation behind it. Ceiling will also have insulation and drywall.

Those 8' LED lights make it as bright as a football stadium.
