Who is the manufacturer of the lights?
I have a number of florescent 8 footers that are starting to dim again. Had replaced tubes and went to electronic ballasts a number of years ago. Cold weather performance is pretty lousy but better than the standard ballasts.

I love the LED lights I installed in my man cave garage . I mounted them about 6 " below the ceiling on three walls . I was a little nervous it might not be bright enough WOW was I wrong ! Between the white painted walls and the white metal ceiling it is VERY bright .

The fixtures are from Lithonia Lighting. 8400 Lumins each. Got them thru Graybar electrical supplier.

G'day!
|
Looking good, Paul....thanks for the update, amigo!
On the subject of lighting - my 2 car garage has only ever had one standard light bulb in the center. Finally after 23 years I installed two 4' long additional fixtures on each side. One is an LED one from HD and the other a two bulb florescent someone was throwing away that works perfectly. When I go out there now at night and switch on those lights - it's like a whole new world! One day I will install a better system.

Maybe I missed this, but why did you build with that corner cut out versus just making the 2 walls intersect into a corner? Seems you are missing some space and made it more complex.

Yes this inside corner created MUCH more work. I now have two valleys on the roof and the roof framing was more difficult. It also adds some character to the outside of the addition. I wanted something besides a long straight wall.

I was wondering the same thing but didn't want to ask what seemed like a foolish question.
I would have just made that 'corner' on a diagonal and put a large window in it. Nice project and the roof turned out great.

I kinda like the inside corner because I can hide stuff in it.

Working on moving my junk out of the storage unit and into the shop. I've moved everything 50 times.

Cool project, good work.
I remember when my shop was finally done, it seemed huge! Now, I'm shifting around again to gain a few feet here and there. It fills up quick. |

Finally completely out of my storage unit. That $300/month can be used somewhere else. Don't tell the building department I've taken occupancy, but it just a shop. It's not a crowded as this photo indicates. Now that I've got all my crap here I can work to organize it and make some space.

I was able to save 3 birch doors from the dumpster at work. 33" x 80" x 1 3/4" solid wood they were sliding doors so there is no hardware prep cut outs on them. Perfect for bench tops. Almost too pretty to use.
