What replica would you build..... if you ever did?
Just wondering, I have a crazy itch for a Countach... well every car really. Just wondered what other replicas people have fancied.
I love the RCR 917, XJ12, and the D-type GT40 would be cool too. Saw some very well done 330 P4, with Ferrari drivetrains... $$$$ A company is working on a Countach reproduction, the panels (all metal so far) can act as replacement for original cars a testament to the accuracy. The chassis is pretty sick bit of kit as well... far from the day of Fiero rebodies. I'm going to need to do a lot of freelance to keep up with my want list. |

I'm thinking about building a Lotus Seven with a Lexus 3UZFE alloy v8. One thing that I've learned is that weight of the car really matters. That and tires cost a ton of money. Light cars don't eat up tires.

Ford GT 40 MKII with an FE block 427. I think Superformance makes them.

Same here but I would prefer to build an alloy body version rather than fibreglass.

I love a lot of the replicas especially those from ERA replicars. However, today I'd want to build a Caterham CSR. Tomorrow, maybe something else (do "tributes" count?)
but a CSR today in no small part because I might be able to finish it in time to enjoy driving it. ![]()

That little black car Angela has, 550 with a flat six, or a Beck Carrera GTS, or whatever they call their 904
Those Lotus 7 knockoffs are truly astonishing. There is a kit that uses a Subie drivetrain, turns it into a mid-rear 2WD setup, can't remember who makes it, but that would be very not bad too.

Interesting question. It would be really tough to choose. I guess my top 3 would be a GT40, a 550 or a Caterham 7.
If we were day dreaming, maybe use the motor out of a modern mustang (the flat-plane crank motor) for the GT40. One of those cool flat-4s that's based on a flat 6 for the 550. If there's a good 917, that would be really cool too. For that probably just a really great flat 6 of some description.

![]() mE? Beck 904 with a mild 911 engine. Beck can build it. I don't care who builds it. That's what I want. |
