Another very worthwhile advantage to neck sizing bottlenecked rifle brass is that is lasts for more reloads than it would if you full length sized it. Depending on caliber, case shape, and operating pressure, you can get two or three the number of reloads on a piece of brass if you neck size vs. full length resize.

Just a heads up, Rogers Sporting goods has 9mm available. The lowest price I saw was for CCI Blazer Aluminum $18.99 per box of 50. The Blazer Brass is 19.99. Not as bad as what I saw at Dunham Sports yesterday. All of their 9mm (and they had quite a bit) was 24.99 per box.

We've predictably gone from empty shelves to overpriced ammo. As stock continues to build up, prices will come down some. I seriously doubt I will see $10 box of 9 mm any time much before January 2025 (if ever again).

Not on the shelf and no more Russian. 10 dollar box is the unicorn.
Local place has powder and primers. Bullets are still expensive though. We'll see coming up

If they have small pistol primers could you snag me some? I haven't seen any online or in stores.

I don’t think we’ll ever see pre-pandemic prices again. But my local gun store has plenty of ammo in stock, and the prices are not as outrageous as they used to be. And when I say ammo in stock, I’m saying giant pallets of ammunition.
Federal. Box of 50, brass case. ![]()

You're in NJ. Need to travel the flyover states and you will be in heaven. Scheels/Fleet Farm/Runnings.

I've driven out as far as central PA. No joy.

Get off my lawn!
|
![]() I recently dug to the back of my stash, and used these up. They sure poked nice round holes in paper. I suspect it will cost more than that to replace them.

I would defy anyone to find a primer at a retail gun shop today. I see them online occasionally on sites like Midway, Brownell's, Precision Reloading, etc. (Brownell's has CCI #350 Large Pistol Magnum primers today, for example), but they have been absent from the storefront, brick and mortar pipeline for over two years. No matter where you live.

Apparently the ones that I favor Federal small pistol are highly favored by others as well.
Dig this, Palmetto is prioritizing orders from Oregon. https://palmettostatearmory.com/ammo.html?p=3

I use Federal, CCI, Winchester, and Remington primers pretty much interchangeably. I have never been able to demonstrate any difference on paper or over the chronograph, so long as the proper type of primer is used, save for one very specific, unique application.
That application is my black powder cartridge firing match rifles. With these, I do see a difference on paper. Nothing else though.
