Shells are starting to show up occasionally at the local Walmart . But you have to be quick, the shelves are emptied pretty quick. Hopefully the guys clearing out the shelves will eventually have their fill and they will become more available.

The guys I shoot with have been getting some now and then.

I also see where my order for 5000 primers is finally being filled. With what I have, that should last me for a few years.

From whom?

Ballistic products

These were shotgun primers, cheddite’s. They are out of stock now, but you can order them and they will fill your order when they become available.

At least that’s how it worked for me on my last two orders.

50 cents is the current vigorous for 9mm, same for 7.62 x39

Top Gun, good price on 9mm Luger. Not so good on .45 ACP at about a buck a round plus shipping.

But they had something to sell.

Do you remember when mom and dad said you need to share?

They are producing as much as possible, but everyone is in full panic buying mode right now, and it creates a self fulfilling prophecy. People walk in and see empty shelves, and buy anything they can get their hands on at any price, even if they don't need it...

Maybe it's time for firearms and ammunition manufacturers to put government orders at the back of the queue, and put orders for retail and civilians at the front.

Remington put out a press release that they are back to ammo manufacturing.

I was talking to my buddy the other day. Turns out I have more invested in lead than I thought, it appreciated. He has a much larger assortment. He did not pay much for a lot of it, but it is worth a lot now

red-beard 04-12-2021 07:12 PM

I don't think it will go down in value in the next few years.

HardDrive 04-12-2021 07:35 PM

I remember by dad ordering .30-06 from the Civilian Marksmanship Program decades ago. It was cheap!

red-beard 04-12-2021 07:48 PM

CMP - all gone. They had an enormous shipment of Greek surplus ammo and it is all gone.

I went to a gun show this past weekend, lots of ammo. But prices were thru the roof, 9mm $1.00 a round. .22 ammo $85.00 for 500 rounds.

cabmandone 04-13-2021 05:22 AM

I thought about sending a letter to the government requesting 9mm ammo rather than a stimulus check for $1400. You know they have the stuff sitting around somewhere.

His net worth is going up every month those rounds are unspent.

Funny, when I was doing my refi I jokingly asked my broker if I have to add the market value of my ammo to my list of assets. He nervously chuckled.

If the projectile exits the gun, it's good.
