This is a "complicated" issue.

1 - UK is only giving shot #1 right now, which is about ~80% effective at preventing Covid, but 100% effective at stopping hospitazation and death.

2 - The UK has vaccinated less than 50% of their population. You need 70-75% for herd immunity (Israel 60%, UK 45%, USA 29%).

3 - Testing is widely available and encouraged.

4 - PCR test are way to sensitive they way they are used for DIAGNOSING COVID-19. Lots of people can test positive for exposure to SARS-Co-V2, but not develop COVID-19.

Track by hospitazation and deaths. Those are the best way to track this mess.

Was at the eye doc this am. First question was 'have you been vaccinated'. If you answered in the affirmative that was the end of the questions.

Tells me they believe their asses are covered if you've been vaccinated.

Got my first pfizer shot, the folks in charge of giving the shots were very polite and very helpful. 4 days and counting, still feel woozey, but a little bit better. I know I had something a while back, might have been covid, might not, but the shot seems to have cleared up something that weapon gave me...shot two is a killer, cant wait till both are over..Oh yeah, some folks with hyperglycemia, me, will need to eat more protein..

Wife and I get our 2nd pfizer shot on 4/5.

A co-worker's wife had some rash on her hands a few days after the 2nd moderna shot. Then at 10 days she had full anaphylactic shock while at work. Fortunately she's a fire fighter and they put her in an ambulance, got to the hospital and she's all good. (BTW, I've met her and wouldn't seeing that fire-fighter calendar!)

I had the covids in early January and got the 1st Pfizer shot last week. Felt like I had it again for 24 hours and like a light switch it was gone.

The second shot will be a non event for me in April, since the first was basically like a booster.

They handed me the vaccine record card blank and asked me to fill it out........

red: that is great news! Thanks for posting!
Understood. My point, perhaps not well presented, is that the increase in cases is a different demographic than those that have received the vaccine, not proof that that vaccine isn't working.

Yes, Murphy and NJ are screwed up. I repeatedly hear stories about elderly that want a vaccine, yet do not have the internet skills. Scoring a shot in NJ is not unlike navigating the Crowther/Woods Adventure maze.

Interesting I feel okay. But fatigued. Did some yard work digging out some ornamental grasses that were way too big every year.

I kid you not; I had to sit down after each plant came loose. The three I did on the other side before the vaccine, barely winded me.

I’m hoping IPA is the magic bullet.

The second dose of the Moderna knocked thuy out pretty hard for about 12 hours. It was almost exactly 24 hours after the shot that she started feeling it. Was running a small fever and took some Tylenol and napped for about 12 hours and then she was fine.

I’m hoping the Pfizer doesn’t hit me as hard, she usually handles illness better than me. 😂

I got my first Moderna shot yesterday afternoon. I feel perfectly fine since; my arm is barely sore. Getting the appointment was much harder than getting the shot; the folks at RiteAid were super efficient and helpful. It was a very low-stress event.

That reaction to the second dose of Moderna is common. Fever and Chills 24 hours after injection, for about 6-12 hours.

Yep getting the appointment is the tought part. Back in January, my mother was having trouble getting appointments for herself and my dad. Vaccine supply was really tight.

You are reading it wrong. It is still highly effective 6 months after, at 91.3%. It has lost a bit less than 4% efficacy in 6 months.

At that rate, you will hit 50% efficacy in 8.5 years.

I got my first Moderna shot yesterday. No side effects so far - I've heard that is normal, with side effects less common - but you hear more about the side effects because no effect isn't very sensational.

I'm looking forward to ditching the mask, but I'll continue to wear it as long as the experts say so. I know they will err on the side of conservatism for mask wearing, but I'll do what I can to help our businesses and society open back up as soon as possible.

I went back and read it again. Yeah I read it the wrong way. Thanks for pointing that out. On a side note, my wife is in a small local study where they're testing for antibodies monthly. I wish I understood what the numbers she tells me mean. She said she tested at 60 in the first month.
