I think I read somewhere that among fully vaccinated people, .05 percent got the virus after being exposed. The study was among first responders IIRC. .05% is damn near zero.

BTW, she got tested for COVID as soon as she was felling good enough to ride in the car (and before the shots) and it came back negative. So we don't know.

Yep. Anyone who has had COVID really only needs 1 shot. Info I saw was brings you up to ~99%.

A Vaccine will not stop you from being exposed to the virus. Your body has the tools to fight it off and quickly. But you STILL have virus in you. And the PCR test at 40 cycles may show positive. That is what I am sure is going on.

I don't know. My sis says she knows someone who was fully vaccinated, got the virus, and was recently life flighted off the island. It would be interesting to find out more about something like this just like 1990C4s thread about PCR false positive. I don't think the general public will ever find out more about these "break through" cases.

I am 100% certain that the vaccine company would be involved in a case like that. All are claiming that even one dose, after 2 weeks, you should not be hospitalized or die from COVID. 100%.

Less than 2 weeks after 1st dose, you can definitely get a real case of COVID. Next time I'm at the clinic, I'll ask.

I understand what you're saying and I have to wonder if the person my sis told me about wasn't immunosuppressed or compromised and didn't have the reaction to the vaccine that a person with a healthy immune system would have produced. But according to my sis the person was "younger and healthy" and sis isn't the type to call an overweight person "healthy" so we can rule that out.

They’re just rabid to get shots into arms. The unknowns or fake information outweighs the alternatives. Alcohol? One excuse is as good as another.

I am 100% certain about nothing related to this virus. Anyone who proclaims otherwise should be taken with a grain of salt. No insult intended Redbeard, but being part of a study does not somehow impart solid information that no one else has. You are being told what you are supposed to know. That’s it.

It was probably in the fine print but I was just glad to get an appointment early. The whole ordeal took all of 3-5 minutes, well, beside the 20 minutes the Wife insisted we walk around CVS after the shot.

About 12 hours after the second shot yesterday it started to hit me. First up was diarrhea followed by aches and fever. About 8 hours later I was just about back to normal. My wife just had aches and fever.

I did a google before I got my first shot and did not see anything about the alcohol thing. I did feel crappy the day after my second shot and I did drink 2 beers. Seems they would say something at the clinic.

Became eligible in Michigan as of yesterday (not 50+ yet). A week ago I registered for notifications to schedule online for Ford Field in Detroit (where the Detroit Lions lose a lot of games), and local hospital where my primary doc is.

Got a text Sunday for Ford Field, made an appointment for yesterday afternoon, and easy peasy. No line outside, really efficient inside...a lot of people moving in and out. FEMA/National Guard handled the jabs, Meijer Pharmacy the scheduling. Had the jab within 5 minutes of walking in, and waited for 15. Will head back for 2nd dose of Pfizer in 3 weeks.

Feeling a little sluggish today. But, not sure if that's from shoveling over 3 yards of dirt and setting up a garden, the vaccine...or likely a little of both.

I know of no guidance on alcohol before or after the vaccines.
