It's just simple plastic fittings and crap. You can do it, no pressure ! Just make sure no one uses the toilet

Looks like one might have already been replaced with the Y as circled in green.

When I pulled the cap, a little bit of toilet paper and water came out but not much, a cup or two.
Watch out for the black widows !

I had my eyes open, but there doesn't seem to be anything living under the house (which is great, IMO).

You gotta crawl under at night and have a look with a flashlight, don't leave it on for too long or they'll hide !

In the daytime, look for the webs.

Hahah. Yep, I saw no webs while I was down there which was surprising (but made me quite happy).

Yes, I was down there with a flash/headlight in the last 30 mins before sunset. It wasn't pitch black, but it was pretty dark.

I've actually been very surprised that I've seen very few spiders since we've moved in. I've only recently seen a couple of small ones outside the house. I haven't seen any inside the garage which seems like it'd be prime territory for spiders, and I haven't seen any under the house or inside the house.

I'm sure it's only a matter of time.

And, apparently, there are tarantulas in the area. I haven't seen any, but some folks from the neighboring county have posted photos on facebook of tarantulas that they've run across.

If I was under the house and ran into a tarantula, I don't think it would go well for either of us.

My brother and his son were doing some rearranging out in the shops and ran across this guy hiding under some siding he had stored between the shop buildings.
Let's hope you don't run into any of them under the house.

There are some jobs that I just won't DIY. Crawling under a house with bugs and snakes and whatnot is where I turn to my superpower to solve the problem.

I was thiiiiiiiiiiis close to going that route.

I also want to swap out the lid or lids on my septic tank. The one on the first tank has been hit by the mower, and is broken. I managed to get the lid off (not that hard) and then back on (huge PITA) yesterday. I'd either like something that's not cement, or something cement with handles, preferably handles that drop down when not in use.

What I found especially crazy when searching the 'Net for photos of septic tanks was how many had square access holes and lids. It seems insane to have anything other than a round hole/lid, at least, if it's concrete.

You've just got to keep bumping the number up. Eventually someone will come out on nights and weekends if you're willing to ring up enough $$$

For safety lid should be locking or bolted, with a riser to grade. Find a supplier, they will know what's 'legal' for your area.

I like it that it has my image on the front. The other side doesn’t have my picture on it, so you would be bored.

In my experience the square lids have been for the risers. The tanks themselves have always had round covers. Drop a square lid into a riser and you just reach down and get it out. Drop a square lid into a tank and YEEEOWWW!!!

That’s what I was saying. No way that meets code.

And out of the bunch, the bottom one would freak me out the most.

Apparently, those are not far from here either. I don't know if they have them right here, but there are folks that aren't that far away that say they have them.

I am about as cheap as they come.
No way I am crawling under a house to mess with poop pipe.
You have to excavate around the joints, then cut the pipe, then fab and glue the new pipe.
I'm with Patrick; american express time!

Looks can be deceiving. I suspect it ranges from 12 or 14" up to about 20-24".

It's doable, but not terribly pleasant.
