Christmas is right around the corner, we are all excited about that.

The kids are both thriving in school and ski season has begun again.

We have 2 wonder pets that the whole family loves; a 2 year old dog and a 8 month old cat that are just great.

My wife drives me crazy but I guess that’s part of married life …

I do have no shortage of stress and complications in my life that I’m working through one step at a time.

Our granddaughter is on antibiotics to treat a mild pneumonia, but is determined to keep going to school, dance, skipping, and whatever. I think that sort of determination will do her well, (if it doesn't do her in).
I am getting to spend time with my next door neighbor who is fighting cancer and with a fellow who was in our musical group 14 years ago. He seems to be failing but appreciates the visits.
Saturday I'll be playing some Christmas tunes for the folks at the facility where my MIL has been living for just over two years.
The wife and I are so appreciative we have each other and express it every day.
Life is good and we know it.

Best

I am a bit weird. Today I am so happy. Happy happy happy, for no real reason why.

Then other days I'm sad for no real reason why.

Lots to be happy about these days. I haven't watched cable news since Nov 6 and replaced that screen time with classical music. I know nothing about classical music, but I'm really enjoying listening to it. It has a nice calming effect that I could use more of.

My son is really getting into Porsche ownership. I was afraid it could turn into a trophy sort of thing (like a trophy wife) but no - he's really digging into what makes it tick and actually putting miles on it to get to the next 5000 km service quicker. He bought a sweet set of ramps so he can get under it.

Penny, the dog we adopted, is getting better slowly but surely. She is still very much afraid of me, but Vicki has become her rock. It brings a tear of joy to me when I see them out walking, with Penny with happily trotting along without a care in the world, her tail waving in the air. What Vic has done to save this little dog is a miracle.

Happy to see , that 2 years after losing my wife, both of my boys are doing o.k . I was mostly worried about how all that would pan out . My oldest ( 19) is Autistic, and not too long after losing mom, we started to really butt heads . He put his hands on his little brother, then when I tried to put the smack down on him, we ended up getting physical a few times .
He punched me in the face twice, and I have no idea how, but I choked off the kraken and did not decimate him . Little bastard thinks he is tougher than me now , he has no idea, that pain, only pisses me off, and lights the fuse .
Anyhow, he moved in with in laws for a year, and is now in School in WVA. We have mended our relationship and communicate daily ( counseling helped ) .
He was home last week for the Holidays, and made the comment that he did not want to go back to school , and there was no place like home .
Surprising to hear those words, because for the last 2 years, he said how bad he hated our home, and would never return, or live there again. He is now making plans to come back after school is over .
My little guy ( 7) is doing great in school. His teacher told me what a polite , kind little boy he is, and that he has come a long way this school year . His friends parents always comment that he is one of the best behaved, and polite of the bunch .
2 years in , Mr Momming it, Im sure not perfect, but I am doing my best .
Plus, met a real nice girl this summer, and we are getting along really well . Cute as a button , wholesome, and once again in my life, I am dating above my pay grade . I was not sure if it was possible, but I got a small case of the feels again .
I also lost about 30 pounds since my wife passing. I was fat and happy . I hated how it made me feel physically , and mentally . I hated the way I looked . I eat healthy, and exercise regularly , started riding BMX bikes again, and sometimes even go for a short run , even without the police chasing me .
I have been flipping cars like a boss in my spare time, which is a favorite past time of mine, and also, my little part time towing gig is starting to gain traction .
Re united with a huge group of old friends, and I get out a few times a month , and have a few strong meaningful friend type relationships once again .
Plus, I still have all you knuckleheads that I call friends.
Long story short. I am getting a re do on life . Starting over, and I am going to make sure to make it count for the last hurrah.
Life is good, at least a lot better than I thought it could be
Count me thankful and happy

I’m glad to hear things are going well for you Fred. You’ve had more than your share of hard times.

The dog and I walked over to pick the little one up from school this afternoon. Then they ran around after each other in the yard when we got home.

Well my life looks like I won the fricken lottery from the outside. But I struggle to find joy. I have a pretty awesome family. Love the heck out of my dog. Like to putter in the garage. We had a sunny day today- I expect the last one for a long while. It was lovely.

I think the most fun I have had in a long while was building a shed. Never done this before. It DID make me happy.

Also. FRED. He makes me happy. He has worked life into a win. That is awesome.

Fred, in spite of all the adversity, you have faced over the last couple of years, you have found happiness. And like KC said above, that makes me happy.

Glad to hear it SC. I think about you every now and then. Was happy to see your post in the MRI thread - confirmed that you are still kicking. Praying for you and the cat.

Today is Wednesday, senior discount day at the grocery store. Along with any other errands we have, we stop in to a little coffee shop to have a little "us" time, stop by the library and chat with folks we know. Despite the turmoil going on at the moment, we know we are lucky and are enjoying it.
