The fact that I am 59 years old today makes me pretty darn happy. I really didn't think I would survive my 20s but here I am. Lol.

Turned 74 a month ago and v healthy

Accepted an offer on my sandblasting and powdercoating business today

Nearly finished setting up my new workshop with all the fabrication machinery and equipment that was excluded from the business sale ... stuff like CNC plasma cutter, TIG welders, punch, press brake, saws, drill press, etc. This will be my retirement hobby shop where I can make pretty much anything I want.
I might even get around to rebuilding my trusty 911.
The mezzanine floor is built, so the next stage (over the next 3-4 months) is the upstairs offices, kitchen, lounge and bathroom.

Send him a PM.

My neighbor just finished a series of chemo and he told me it was the hardest thing he had ever done.

SC, let us know.

Hey guys, I'm still on top of the ground kicking rocks. I sleep like a dead man with a CPAP and O2 concentrator nowadays shoulda done the CPAP 30 years ago. Life changer. IF you snore or need a pot of coffee and an hour to get going in the morning then look into it.

Going on now 22 1/2 months chemo plus immunotherapy the first year until it supposedly quit working then a new chemo no immuno since. Treatments every 3 weeks and all the associated tests and imagery, a couple rounds of radiosurgery. I've taken so many IV's to the top of my hands, one instance where the chemo infiltrated the top of my hand, my veins in my arms just couldn't take anymore so I had a port installed in my chest that so far has been used a couple times.

You'd never know by looking at me that nearly 2 years ago I was given 2-3 months to live without treatment or maybe get a year with treatment. I fired that oncologist almost a year ago after asking him if the treatments had anything to do with raising my blood glucose and A1c his reply was "I'm not the one putting food in your mouth". Wrong answer pal. Pulmonologist that did his 3rd bronchial biopsy on me set me up with another oncologist that I can work with.

It's a catch 22. They tell me "If you stop treatment you might lose ground to the cancer and if you try to start it up again the cancer may be resistant to the treatment". I've been on the 2nd line of treatment, until just a couple months ago there was no 3rd line drug. But now they claim there is a new one on the market. The side effects look worse than the disease it treats. So that's the trick...stay alive and hope something new comes along.

I appreciate the thoughts prayers and messages you guys have sent me. Not giving up just yet, I try to avoid things and people that aggravate me, do things on my own time and every day is a blessing. Oh, and the cat, he's getting older but sleeps much better on his side of the bed. He stays close by. Wouldn't trade my old cat for anything.

And Holy Toledo Bazman, your Florida Gators are coming to Starkvegas this weekend to take on my Bulldogs. I think it's the Dan Mullen Appreciation Bowl?!

SCadaddle,
Every day is a victory. I visited my next door neighbor this morning who is being aggressively treated for cancer in his spine. He has been appreciative of his doctors' approach and is giving it his all.
Fighters win. He says he wins every day.

Best
Les

Thank you, SC...

So, Jack, my son, is getting married to a wonderful woman...fun to look back and forward:

I'll need a "Roof Girl" Model Release before I post a pic of his fiance, Mattie

Both our children are a wonder and source of joy that I didn't really understand, initially, the wellspring of.

Sadly, not a damn thing. Those who made me happy, gave me a purpose, have passed, others I was invested in, c well. True, I have lots of "cool" stuff, but the people I wanted to share everything with (and yes, again during my birthday, when I truly thought I found someone who I could share my life with, ended up having a cancer death sentence, I have already lost, my true soul mate, and others who were close, but I thought I found happiness, only to find out that she had a short time left, and went back west to be close to her kids),
So it is very clear, I am not meant to be happy, no matter how many cool Porsches, parts, Fuchs, bmx bikes I have, or other cool stuff, i am not meant to be happy.

Byron, I hope things change for you soon. They will.

You’ve been dealt some terrible hands lately, that’s for sure. You need to stay in the game, try to put on a smile, and you will get some better cards.

Playing pickleball twice a week with an old college buddy..... fun competition that is also good exercise.

Presently converting my old daily driver Cayenne into an pseudo overland build.

Consolidating and switching all my retirement investments to a financial advisor who says that I actually might not have to work until I am dead.

I just signed my 14 year old son and I up for a 3 hour Ironman endurance race this coming weekend. Endurance racing with him is something I’ve been waiting the last 14 years to do… it’s finally going to happen on Saturday.
