Randomly came across the last picture of my Dad, my youngest and I taken before I moved from OH to CA last year. Warmed my heart and broke it to a million fuchin pieces again simultaneously.

I moved in August, lost Dad in October. The memories still lead to happy though.

My approximately 11 year old 18 pound nearly toothless tomcat that is my companion. He gets a head start on sleeping on my bed every night in the exact spot where my feet wind up when I get in bed, at which point my feet get nice and toasty and he moves up to his side of the bed.

In the middle of the night he will awake me with a soft paw to my lips sitting in front of me. The sleep study I waited 6 months for an appointment revealed I have severe sleep apnea and my O2 concentration levels remain in the 80-70 percent range with a nadir of 69 percent for 90 percent of the time I am supposed to be asleep. In 10 more days I go for another study at the sleep clinic. It will take them 2 weeks to resolve the data for the next step.

The cat, he's known it's been a problem all along.

But he keeps me going. 14 months into being diagnosed with extensive stage terminal cancer and being treated with chemo and immunotherapy, it's recently been deemed as no longer working. So I've started the 2nd line of chemo. I may be down to a few months if not weeks at this point. You'd never guess it if you saw me.
Friends and neighbors are my only family. Other than of course the cat.

My hope is that somebody is going to enjoy the companion I leave behind. He certainly has spared me the grief of leaving me first.

A warm spot in the bed for my cold feet. Yes, sometimes you realize life really is about "enjoying every sandwich".
Damn! Nothing anybody can do about your diagnosis...I'm so sorry. As to your companion? Maybe contact Byron here? He's easily found on the cat thread...Mississippi and Florida aren't all that far apart geographically...

I’m happy looking through all the cool old pictures Glen posts in the “picture” thread. Thank you.

My extended family. Although we may not look it, we are all very happy and healthy with no major dramas or crises in our lives at this time. We all are able to gather at the ranch a few times every year and we all get along very well. Very happy about that. The black dog does look happy though.

When I first read this I thought your cat was sick. Then I read it again. Oh My.
Please don’t become a stranger to PPOT. We want to know how you’re doing. I wish I lived closer, I’d make the three of us sandwiches to enjoy. I assume the big boy likes tuna salad. I’ll leave the rest of the menu up to you.

I just bought a '82 R65 for a winter project. It's been years since by fat butt sat in the saddle on two wheels.
Had a horse for a minute but this is more my style.

I normally ---snip--- forum posts when I reply - especially the longer ones, like yours, SCadaddle.

But in this case - I just couldn't do it.

You and I have known each other for quite a few years via the college football threads I post each year. And for that reason alone, I feel we are good friends.

As such, I grieve for you and feel very helpless to not be able to help in some way.

If there is something I/we can do...please say so.

I would think you won't have any trouble finding a new home for your kiddle locally using your local social media, as many kiddle lovers as there are. But nevertheless, if that becomes an issue, please let me/us know.

Having your little furball with you is indeed something that should make you happy. Which is the theme of this thread. I applaud that you recognize this.

I was at Walmart today in Port Orange after my doctor's appointment to look for some stocking stuffers for my Mom and to get her a Unicorn Parfait for an afternoon snack..because she loved the first one I got her a week or so ago. And I wanted to see that smile of hers again. While using their restroom, there was a man standing in front of the sinks trying to wash his hands. I say trying because apparently he just went through a knee replacement and had two walking canes. I showed him how to touch the end of the faucet to get the (damn) water to come out. He was a little frustrated at his current situation and I told him as long as we're vertical, that's something to be thankful for.

I know this probably just sounds like some cliche......but really and truly......your post should remind all of us to be grateful for what we have every moment of the day. Because we don't know what is coming next.

I love you, man. We love you. We are family and we are friends.

And please give your little one a soft kiss on the noggin' from all of us......

My MIL had a laser procedure done this morning which I believe removed protein deposits from the lenses she had implanted some years ago when her cataracts were removed. She will be able to read again.
We have been without power for a couple of days due to a severe wind storm, but our generator has been running fine. Power should be back on after supper.

Best

I turned 50 yesterday. I have lots to be thankful for and had an amazing last week of my 40s.

Our new dog that we’ve had for about a year, continues to make me smile. Mt daughter got a 4 month old kitten who is fitting in well. The dog loves him.

The kids are back in school and doing well, my son started high school.

My consulting business is busy. I have 2 clients trying to recruit me into amazing positions… I’m flattered and not clear which is the best path but it’s nice to have options.

I had an amazing supper last night with friends and family.

My dad is stable and seems to be doing ok in LTC. He came to supper last night.

I had a great work trip last week and spent my time with some very intelligent people and learned a bunch about some new technology I have been asked to help develop.

This appears to be the last post from SCcadadl. Ten months ago. Anyone heard from him? This is not making me happy.

I went and took a look. He posted the below on 9/02/24 in the Insulting Garage Door thread.

Send him a PM.

My neighbor just finished a series of chemo and he told me it was the hardest thing he had ever done.

SC, let us know.
