These are more like memorable fight scenes rather than beating scenes, but two that come to mind:
The Bourne Conspiracy, fight in Bourne's apartment. The Bourne Supremacy, relieving the US agent of his equipment in the consulate in Italy. There's something almost poetic about the way Damon fights. You can almost see him thinking about his next move, no wasted effort. And he's absolutely lightning fast. |

The Patriot, when Mel Gibson's character rescues Gabriel from the British, and when he fights the Brit officer
Mad max beyond thunderdome when he is "auditioned" in Auntie's house. Rob Roy--the sword fight between Rob and Tim Roth Galdiator--take your pick. I like the scene where he battles the former Gladiator champ. The Warriors when they fight the baseball furies Excalibur--again take your pick Uther vs. the usurpers Lethal Weapon Mel vs. Gary Busey Grosse Point Blank was already mentioned--that fight is awesome--very realistic. Pale Rider--when Clint beats down the guys with an axe handle. and as Z mentioned--Last of the Mohicans--that fight is wicked at the end.

Jimmy Vs. Timmy in a South Park episode where they exactly re-create the scene in They Live where Roddy Roddy Piper and another guy beat the snot out of each other.

I gotta go with Vinman and American History X, The scene with the curb is so gruesome, i shake my head when i even think about it. I'm sure people have had nightmares about it.

Yeah, I remember the curb scene in AHX. Sopranos have had a few good ones too. When Ralph beat that dancer to death, whom he had knocked up. Or when Christopher and his goon beat that guy up from the drug counseling class, who also had a gambling problem.

3 pages and no cat fights? Whats the matter with you homos? How about Uma Thurman and Vivica Fox in Kill Bill or Charlize Theron and Teri hatcher in 2 Days in the Valley?

I honestly haven't seen too many memorable cat fights in the movies. I saw a great real one in 8th grade in the cafeteria. Gawd, the only thing that could have improved that fight would have been some oil and mud.

I watched True Romance again this weekend. The Alabama vs Virgil, aka Tony Soprano, fight is pretty good. Also when Christopher Walken works over Dennis Hopper. I do believe the dead man may have won that fight. Or maybe the fight when Christian Slater goes to "pay off" Alabama's pimp.

Jesus took a pretty good pounding in "Passion of the Christ" and if you believe it would sure stand up to the "all time" but I don't know about "best".

Best Beating scene in a movie?
Wouldn't that be Judge Reinhold in the bathroom looking at Phoebe Cates in Fast Times at Ridgemont High?
Oh, that kind of beating...

My favorite is one that never happened. In Mad Dog Glory, when David Caruso stands up to the big, bald woman-beating Sheriff's deputy in the bar. A long, tense close shot on the two of them as we see the tough guy melt in the face of the bandy little Irish kid. A great, pure macho moment.

Nicolas Cage in 8mm. Very very disturbing. He couldn't bring himself to shoot the bad guy, to he beats the guy to death with the gun...
