Do you have new-found anger since May 1st?

I have spoken with some fairly sensitive and welcoming people who are plain pi$$ed off with the events that took place Monday.

The strange thing for some is they don't know why they're pi$$ed.

Others I've spoken to are one word short of "genocide" for the whole lot who filled our streets with their causes.

I think much of the upset comes from different interpretations of the protests, if they were protests, as some called them something else (demonstrations, solidarity marches, etc...)

In all, it looked like the people involved with the marches had varying ideas as to why they were marching - nothing quite gelled.

Anyway, I'm just wondering if seeing these marches intensified people already effected by undocumented/illegal aliens, or made anger-newbies out of others.

Yeah, the whole thing rather back-fired on them -- that makes me happy.

Bingo! I am not mad at all. Now I know where to shop, where to eat and such and will support those who went to work on Monday.

The others can go to hell, or return to Mexico, whichever is closest...

I am angry at our gov't (current and past administrations) for turning a blind eye to illegal immigration and our pourous borders.

More annoyed than angry. The people driving up and down my street honking their horn and waving a Mexican flag were good for a laugh though.

I still don't get it. Don't the legal immigrants realize that illegal immigration hurts them too? Not only does it make them look bad, but the public services that the illegals take advantage of for free eventually are paid for with the help of their tax dollars. Not to mention the jobs they take away from those that came here the right way. People are stupid...........

Virtually everyone I've spoke to who is a legal immigrant is against illegal immigration.

May 1st only managed to piss me off even more than I already was. Especially after seeing how many of our people support all this crap.

Two of my employees (legal) did not show for work on Monday. Yesterday they asked if they could put in some overtime this week to make up for Monday. Excuse me, I have to go now as I am seeing black spots before my eyes.....

Please help my memory: Was it Breshnev (spelling) who told Americans that we would be celebrating May Day (Communist Revolution for those who forgot 1 May) in America before the century was done?

OK, the man was six years late!!!!

Mad? Angry? Pi$$ed?

Nope, not a one of those terms addresses the amount of angst I feel at the direction of this country.

If you are in Washington and reading this: ADRESS STRUCTURAL ISSUES IN OUR COUNTRY!!!! An attempt at correcting basic structural issues is better than doing nothing but waiting for the "perfect" resolution. There is none!!! People are going to be upset no matter what you decide to do. Indecision is KILLING our country!!! Guess we don't have any more leaders...the failing of Western Society.

What bugs me is how the original issue - illegal immigration - has been turned into an us-vs-them issue on Mexican immigrants in general. I'm was reminded of this when I have to select "English or Spanish" at the ATM this morning, or "pokeala number uno para español" when navigating a phone tree. If you insist on coming in illegally, at least learn the fucking language!

It's pretty much a made-up issue IMHO.

Cheap labor is the drug a lot of businesses are addicted to. As long as they rely on cheap labor, workers will show up.

IMHO the only real damage was done to the Latino community. 'They' lost the wages, 'their' businesses lost the income, 'their' cause was not advanced.

I'm not boycotting anything. That would just add credibility to this farce.
