Welcome back Victor. We missed you. Have fun in Florida? Thanks for the pics the other day.
Key West was fun. However, be careful not to park your Alfa in one spot too long or the locals might turn it into a flower pot.

Chris Banning recently came out with a book entitled "the Mulholland Experience," all about the history of Mulholland racing and such. Some good stories, especially if you're... uhmmm... "familiar" with the road.

Anyway, in the late 70's he built a hardcore Mulholland killer Porsche with a chopped roof (yes, chopped and it doesn't look stupid). He was I believe the last "King of the Hill" before the whole Mulholland racing thing was completely busted up.

DOES ANYONE KNOW WHAT HAPPENED TO THIS CAR?

IT'S TUESDAY! CAN'T I HAVE A LITTL FUN?

One advantage of 'living' at Sears Point Raceway, you get to see some
awesome cars.

How many advantages to living in Los Angeles can I show in one picture?
Mulholland, R8, Porsches, weather, cute women in bad boots, etc...

Keep in mind, this was in March of this year.
Only R8 in the US.

Yeah, I never got the Ugg thing either. I say, if a girl's gonna wear boots, she should wear some real ones! A certain steering wheel recover thread comes to mind.

Mulholland Footwear

Victor takes the credit for the ORIGINAL MULHOLLAND FOOTWEAR ENDORSEMENT with Maccosins. Its not a legend. Its part of Mul history.

This was at a time when Clog's and Birkenstocks were in vogue. Personally I think Clog's are good for one thing. A mallet disguised as a shoe. Sometimes called a "Holland Hammer". You could torque things with Clog's. Birkenstocks? Lets not go there.

Then came Wallabee's about 1973. Today I think they are referred to as "Chuka's". I wore Wallabee's. They were a hightop suede thing like a sort of short Maccosin with a pebble grained gum rubber sole. They were comfortable and in style a long long longgggggggggg time ago. Wallabee's got a bad rap because it was rumored the Wallabee's were made from endangered "Nauga" skins. (an odd creature from Sumatra). Don't believe me Google "Nauga".

Then came Ugg's and the Ugg knockoff the "Emu". I do not wish to get in an Ugg debate except some chicks look really cute in them and some do not. I will leave it at that. Guy's should not wear Ugg's.

We also have Radu's stylish shoes. I am not sure what they are except they have a cat on the sole. Each shoe is specially logo'd with "Power" on the right shoe and "Brake" on the left shoe. No confusion as to what foot they belong on here. Personally I think these are way cool footwear. Octane footwear maybe?

Then we have Dave and Jeff's traditional old school "Vans". I seem to get more wear on the left heel of these. It must be a heel and toe thing. Whatever.......You can play checkers with Dave's old style slip-on's! (Dual purpose you know). Vans also have gum rubber soles. Gum rubber really sticks to the pedals providing a driver advantage. They also melt when they get hot. Not good for cycle riding.

Today we have Piloti's.
A shoe designed for the driver. This is the hard sell advertisement for the Mulholland II model.

"The Mulholland II is named for Mulholland Drive a Highway in the Santa Monica Mountains of Southern California. Famed for its challenging corners, long car culture history and panoramic vistas. The Piloti staff test each of our shoes on this nearby stretch of road. The Mulholland II is the successor to the original Mulholland, which introduced Piloti’s Touring line. Constructed of suede and mesh, the low-cut MII upper is designed to fit wider feet and features our new Evolution version of our patented Roll Control™ bottom unit."

That about sums it up.

What's on your foot?
