Dial the Way-Back Machine to 1974........

Some TVL guys go to a slalom at Ventura County Fairgrounds.

Cool Saab 93, a built 2-stroker.

Rotus - Lotus Super 7 with a Mazda rotary. Very, very fast. I think it was owned by a guy named Gallagher.

Front to back, Jeff Coleman and Jim Barnhart, Matt Bailey in the second Capri, Curt Collins in the MG, Rick Van Beveren and Tony Cottrell in the VW, and I don't remember who had the Monza.

Jeff Coleman and Jim Barnhart. Jim was the class clown. He started out with a Pinto and progressed to a couple of Minis.

Ricky Van Beveren and Jeremy's brother Tony. It looks like Ricky had just started working on the VW. It ended up much modified and painted a very nice burgundy. There is a picture of it earlier in this thread after he sold it. After the Bug, Ricky built his 914-6 which lives on as the "Evil Cockaroach"

Ciao babies!

Yup and yup-Scott is our defacto crew chief and has really brought a lot to the team this year. Hit Bob's tonight-had dinner at Mo's with some of the CRE lads-always a good time!

Kurt, holy cow those pictures bring back memories! I saw Curt Collins today, he was buying some Bimmer parts from me.

Mark, your car looked great at Bobs, but I didnt see you. I will try to get to Buttonwillow tomorrow. What time does your race start?

Forgive me if this is a repost, but I had to do it. If it is a repost it was from a long way back, so what the heck!

The ultimate testosterone killer.......being passed by a Peugeot 505. Victor has taught me to respect french sedans. I have this picture in my mind of the air conditioning running and grocery bags in the trunk while he is in a drift at speed.

Way to go Victor. I enjoy these video's. It shows you can not judge the car someone drives but its what the driver can do with it. So Victor was the A/C on?

Sorry, no A/C that time. However,...................back in the way way back machine of '81 I ran a V8 Mustang at the Runoffs and it rained hard that day. So hard the windows fogged up on everybody in the race...................'cept me 'cause I had A/C and the dehumidified air dried up the windows to allow me to pass allot of cars (and the road hugging weight). Started 15th finished 5th (highest finish for an SSA V8 Mustang to date.) Good day for A/C Bad day for Moccasin's

Victor - I was screwing around with YouTube when I stumbled on it. Awesome video - great job by you guys.

Mark - I had too much work related stuff to take care of on Saturday and couldnt get out there. How'd you guys do?

Kurt - Keep those pics coming. I know you have Mustang pics. And surely you have pics of my bros many many many cars.

Jeremy,

We won our class and finished third overall.WILD race..no moon, all brake and apex cones cleaned off after the first couple laps..people off and on(and off)every corner, dead calm so there was a permanent dust cloud..sometimes you had to just scream and hold your foot down and hope there wasn't a dead car in the soup..

No doubt those lights out runs in fog on the Mul paid off!

I got 'em today!

So Jeremy and the TRE guys, here's what they look like mounted. The fronts have an offset sort of like a 6", but it looks really good still. Pictures don't really do them justice, IMO.

Check out the differences and similarites

Old setup

New setup

For posterity
