Will see if I can find some time in the next day or two. I will call you in the morning.

There is a tree just below those old parts that has something carved in it that I have not seen in 27 years. Two sets of initials and special memory. I still have that SA knife.

Great pics Chris!

Jeff,

Chris called a bit ago and we tentatively chose Friday. I am at Willow tomorrow with a bunch of Pelicans and Thursday (depending on weather) I am flying up to Mammoth Mountain for a day of skiing.

Find time on Friday morning!

Dave

If we look hard enough we might find one over the side that earned it's "wings".
Kind of like the mile high club except Carl style.

Ah man... I still have to work on Friday.
If you guys could hold out till Saturday, I'd be there with you.

Chris,
Sorry I didn't get back to you. I had to work this morning and was somewhat busy. By the time I had free time, it was mid afternoon.

Saturday... Saturday... Saturday...

Chris, I would like to thank you for your great book. "The Mulholland Experience" has turned out to be one of my favorite books about Los Angeles. If I can ever buy you a beer, I would love the opportunity, please.

Thanks again to al of you in this thread. I look forward to trading stories in the future.

PS I'll get one of the MIRRC stickers on my MINI Cooper ASAP
Just sending you back a "Welcome to the Party" wave.

Thanks very much Jason. It's nice to hear that you liked the book, The Mulholland Experience.

Please join us next time we meet on Mulholland which will be when it warms up. It's been very cold up here at night for weeks so the guys have been meeting at Bob's Big Boy in Toluca Lake.

A weekend morning historic hike sounds like a great idea. I recall being taken on a hike by my sister about 10 years ago in the Fryman Canyon area, where the trail passed by a few rusted hulks below Mul.

What are the plans for the Saturday Safari? Anyone want to set a time and place to meet?

I apparently have the flu. I may not be able to make it.

Took a hike with Chris today down in the valley below Carls Turn and a back to the Sweeper. My legs are not in the shape they were a quarter century ago. We were huff'n and puff'n all the way back up. Got a good laugh out of that.

Found a nice vintage 70's Honda (Chris has pics of the tank).

A cowl cut from a 911 and a 5 gauge dash for a 911. Too bad someone cut through the gauge pod or else I would have bagged it for a project.

One of two caves in the canyon that I know of. This one has a natural spring at the entrance.

And the fire hose tree swings that have been up since 1970's are still there. A little frayed and some moss but still there.

Since it was "apparently" and not confirmed as the flu I think we should all show up at Daves, 530am sharp to check on him!

Come on down! But if you do, be prepared for my bio-terrorism! I'll sneeze on all of you!

If everyone wants to head out tomorrow, go. It would not be a good idea or me. On the other hand, if everyone wants to postpone, that would be nice as well. I would like to spend more time down there.

Dave

Mull has been there for almost 10 years I think we can wait a week or two so SLoDave can be there with us.
