A pic of Dave, pre-poison oak. Tune in next week when Dave posts a pic of himself, post-poison oak.

In a week we will all exhibit symtoms somewhere on ourselves I expect. I witnessed that we traveled thru thickets of Poison Oak, sometimes unknowingly. This time of year it is especially dangerous since the leaves have not come out and only the branch sticks are there to brush your face or hands or whatever. I washed myself with 90% Isopropyl Alcohol after a soapy shower as soon as I got home from the hike over the hill and I'm still aprehensive.

I'm ready to go again sometime soon so that I can complete the map of where all the artifacts are all over the side of Mulholland Drive in the Racecourse (map will be added to the book second edition). Anyone care to go as soon as the rain is over? There are a few complete cars waiting to be discovered deep in the underbrush. Who knows what's down there? I have to laugh because when I told my mom that my friends and I were hiking over the side of Mulholland to look for old cars and stuff, she said that one of those cars hidden deep for years might have money in it still or some other things of value. Not likely, but it's fun to discover old hidden wrecked cars dating from the 30's to the 80's.

Troubled Britney Spears reportedly threatened to kill herself by driving her car off a Cliff.

According to the News of The World, and ‘hysterical’ Britney Spears phoned her ex husband Kevin Federline from her car and screamed: “I’m going to drive off the cliff! It’s going to be your fault that I killed myself.”

NOTW is also reporting that they were told that the ‘Gimme More’ singer sped down LA’s famous Mulholland Drive and vowed to zoom off the huge drop that lines the bendy road.

A source told the publication: “Britney blows hot and cold. No one knows what’s going through her mind—especially her.”

And now a message from our sponsors:

Hey Chris B.! I'm going to be a bit more optimistic here. I'm not going to get poison oak, I'm not going to get poison oak. Ahhhh, why do I itch all over!

It will be a miracle if we don't all get some kind of blistering on our faces, arms and/or hands in about 5 days. I don't care, I'm ready to go again. Let's go! Only a pussy would let a little nightmare-ish rash with big blisters stop them.

Note: If you start to itch badly in the middle of the night, you should wear socks over your hands so that you don't scratch your skin right off to bare meat. I know from past Mulholland Experiences how devastating Poison Oak can be.

WOW I have not been getting the Email updates on this thread for some reason. Lots of reading to catch up on. Any gatherings this week? I took the week off. Maybe Bob's Friday evening?

Look close at that "straight eight" in a previous page. It appears to be a six to me. Count the valves.

I think I can identify all but one in the Vic pic from Farley's article.

Look like some of might be spared the wrath of poison oak. I have had a few cases, but not for at least 12 years. I have been reading and it looks like it takes 24-48 hours for a rash to start on a person who has been exposed before. I show no linear rash - yet. I think that chances of it showing, will decrease in the next few days.

Although, it can take up to two weeks to show!

Something to take away the misery of poison oak............

Not relevant in Mulholland history but at best humorous for todays world.

The home that caused Grandstands to be bulldozed and bermed belonged to
the one and only "do these hips make my ass look fat" J-Lo. In retrospect I have to think if racing continued on Mul J-Lo would have written "crazy right now" instead of Beyonce.

Topping the charts at #2 the house that sits just west of the radio tower above Carls.....VH1's own Sureal Life House!

If they only knew?
I recall when Chris and I took our first hike we noticed a road above Carls.
That road ends at the home of the brainless!

That's good Dave, keep a positive attitude.
Who knows? If a positive attitude is good for beating diseases like cancer, maybe it will work for Poison Oak as well.

I just got back from a real nice dinner with Radu, his wife to be, and my wife, Jane. We had dinner at the Pineapple Hill Grill and Saloon in Sherman Oaks. Radu will be honored at the Election Brunch for the Ferrari Owners Club next Sunday and he will have one of his paintings as the highlight of the Ferrari Club's Silent Auction. Thank you Radu.

We've been joking about Poison Oak. I now have the beginning of a blistering rash from the hike the other day. I can't wait to see how bad it's going to get.
I hope that the other guys that went with me are OK.

I haven't had dinner yet. Nothing new to report here. My mind is making sure that I itch all over, but I have no rashes to report of. Sorry to hear that you are unlucky. Still some time left; it may show up yet.

Dave
