Six Degrees of Separation... 20-odd years ago my wife was the Product Marketing Manager at Digidesign who rolled-out Pro Tools to the world... She used to fly around with the engineers carrying the prototype in her suitcase trying to convince people that it was going to be the Next Big Thing... Today "Pro Tools Operator" is part of the lexicon...

Lately I have taken the time to prep the Rampside for paint. Time for the eye sore to become a rose.
Thanks for mentioning it Kiley

A little body filler and presto...Just like,a,new Luigi.
It's going to be an interesting color combination of a Silver roof with Silver side stripes on a Lavendar body. Yeoww! Sounds bizzare, but a hunch says it will look great.

The newly aquired 1973 El Camino SS350 needed blue and gold plates to be period correct.
Ready for Bob's.

OK, we're taking guesses on how much Chirs' car weighs. The article is done all that is needed is a weigh-in. The winner gets nothing from me. I can't speak for Chris.

I say #2,278...

In other news.... Someone here has recently been making Chris drool - wink, wink Radu.

Chris, cool to see that od duck come back to life. The color combo sounds wierd on paper
but I've actually seen this combo on real cars before and it works. Does it run?

Wednesday, Dave and I are going to the public scale in Van Nuys to get an official weight for the Carrera. Excellence wants the weight stated in the upcoming article.
The article for Excellence is finished except for the weight.

If you like Mulholland and this thread then you will be very much interested in getting a copy of this particlular Excellence edition when it comes out.
I have pre-read the text and it is really cool. Combined with some fantastic photos this will be a great Magazine article to collect for Mulholland interested people.

By the way, my guess is 2230 pounds for the car. (and thanks Radu for making hot laps on Mul while I'm busy working on cars, I hear you out there Dude, what torture!).

Have they said which issue the article will be in? Also, can one pick Excellence up from major bookstores' car magazine section?

And if anyone knows about which day of the month to look for it, please let it be known.

When I find out what issue it will be in, I will post to the thread.
In the mean time, I'm subscribing to Excellence. It is available at most hi-end newstands.

If not for Derek starting this fantastic thread, there wouldn't be an article or a running car. Thanks again Dude!

Heel n Toe,
yeah you can get it at Barnes&Noble, Boarders, etc. Or if you're local the Van Nuys or
Hollywood/Caheunga newsstands or Burbank Autobooks.
Peace, Kiley

John is in South Carolina.... Kind of a long drive to hit up the newsstands in the Valley.

Okay, folks... the weigh-in is today.

Get your entries in for the unofficial "Guess the Weight" contest (so you can win the unofficial prize).

The prize might be something like an autographed 8x10 of Chris and the car, suitable for framing and putting in your garage.

I'd be willing to contribute some Photoshop efforts to make up something that would include that back-in-the-day photo of Chris squatting beside the car next to the more recent version unless somebody has thought up another prize.

Weight that is closest without going over wins. So far:

Kiley -- 2250
Dave -- 2278
Chris -- 2230
Me -- 2241
