Porsche Supercar Sunday

Porsche is the marque for Supercar Sunday on August 2. It would be cool to have a strong Pelican showing and would be great if Chris B. could have his Mul 911 there.

Thanks Ray. Don't know if I can make it due to a bad dirt entry at the moment.

Dave (slodave) was over two evenings ago and saw the problem first hand.
Here is his very nice burgundy 911 in the drive.

I'm doing the best I can to complete everything asap.

Anyone up for Bob's tomorrow evening? I'm a bachelor for the next week.

Moved again?

Can anyone tell me where C&C or Supercar Sunday is this Sunday? I know it moved from Calabasas to Northridge and again but I have lost track.
Many thanks,

Supercar Sunday is held in the parking lot of the Westfield Mall on Topanga in Woodland Hills. Go north off the 101 exit for Topanga. I think it's at the corner of Topanga and Erwin (right in front of the Macy's).

Note, there are two malls in close proximity on Topanga (and both with a Macy's)--this is held in the mall to the south.

HUGE Thanks

Possibly.

I think the shift coupler let go in the Carrera, lost 5th and reverse tonight but I might show up in the Pontiac. What time do you guys usually roll in?

lfot 08-06-2010 05:08 PM

I don't know when Noah930 is going, but I usually get there around 7:30 or 8:00... hopefully.

After trying to catch up with this thread for over a year I can finally post. Thanks for all the stories and pictures from a guy in the Mid-west.
Are there more pics of the cars that would frequent the area during these times ??
Thanks
Oh and Banning please get on that Ghia ;)

You are going to love this:
vintage film from a Ferrari GTO owner. They filmed themselves at Willow Springs and screwing around on Mulholland.

Regarding that video: Maybe I missed it, but how did those young kids back then afford such swank rides?

Thanks for your interest in the stories of Mulholland. We who love the road appreciate other people's facination with the Lore.

There are more photos and videos for sure. Most are being saved for the next book on Mulholland. Some may be posted here as the new book emerges.

Here is the Type 34 Ghia waiting for me to work on.
I'm almost done restoring the 1961 Corvair Pickup Truck. It's all painted now and awaiting completion. Photos will be posted later.

Purple People Eater

Recent photo of the Corvair Pickup.
I found an interior house color at OSH and had it laser-matched in automotive paint for the Truck.

My friends call it "The Purple People Eater". lol

What time should I show up? The date is August 29, 2010 , correct?

Noah930 08-12-2010 09:28 PM

Supercar Sunday: People start showing up at 7-8 am. Peaks around 9-10. Most people are going or gone by 10:30-11:00.

Have any lines on period correct EMPI parts ?
Thanks for your response... I'm sure people bother you all the time.
Bob

Hi Bob, planning to put konis and Fuchs wheels with good tires on the car. Can't do too much with a swiing axle but VW's can still handle well with good shocks and tires. Will increase the torsion bar size in the rear to handle the extra weight of the 911 engine. Look in Hot VW's for any EMPI parts that you may be looking for. Good luck with your project. Regards, Banning
