Book Progress Update;
New Mulholland Book is taking shape, only photos and a few more interviews are needed. Corvair Pickup Truck is almost ready to sell and will finance various important aspects of creating a book like the cover shot, getting rights to photos, formatting, copyrighting and Library of Congress Registration. Also some money will be set aside because I'm planning on having a famous automotive author write a forward for this new book. A nice surprise. ![]() Here's a recent shot and a half of the Truck with it's incredible air-cooled flat six made by Chevrolet. (If you think your 911 leaks or smokes...LOL) And check out the fan belt doing the Watusi: up and over and thru the woods. ![]() ![]() Last edited by Banning; 03-09-2012 at 02:55 PM.. |

A few weeks ago I was contacted by a Gentleman representing a car magazine that said that they were coming to Los Angeles to get some photos and stories of interesting 911s. He expressed interest in a certain Mulholland Porsche.
We arranged a time to meet after speaking several times and yesterday I spent the day with Total 911 Magazine doing photoshoots in various locations and talking Mulholland related information. It was good to get out on a nice day, put fresh fuel in, and go for a short blast. We changed from Whale Tail to deck lid for photo ops. Here are some photos that I took during the day. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

I have not read all of this fabulous thread. But I have read a bunch. I was waiting in line at an Estate Sale a few months ago and a fellow there said how he used to have a speedster. A 57 I think. Later in the conversation he commented how he stuffed a 911 motor into it to fly around Mulholland. Pretty normal guy. Lives in Battleground Washington area. I forgot his name.
The question: Is he in here? Any pics of the car? Driver? Thanks, Larry |

What do you mean is it serious? I've seen him around for years up there. You can smell the race gas and hear the turbos. The car is beastly.
Here's his youtube channel: roninexige's Channel - YouTube

Still, the old phrase, "PORSCHE, there is No Substitute" holds true. We alll know that here in Pelican. I hope he drives between Coldwater and Benedict, my favorite place to be in the groove. ![]() |

I guess the McLarens and Atom V8s would be competition for the Lotus.

I'm probably still here with you all (and the Carrera is still with us) because it seemed from the start that keeping an extremely low-profile approach, no pun intended, was important for survival. If any one person/car in a specific area makes repeated excessive noise, trouble, accidents, or complaints, etc, they will become a target for Law Enforcement as they probably should be. No one wants to share a busy road with maniacs. That should be reserved for a lonely road. ![]() It's gotten so crowded locally that out in more remote areas of Mulholland Hwy or Mul late at night when the road is all to yourself is a better idea than risking other's lives when many cars are present. In my opinion. Last edited by Banning; 03-20-2012 at 12:41 PM.. |

Here's some more info about it:
You should do something similar for the Carrera. ![]()
